@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

. . . . What the fuck are you talking about Alextendo?  The Liberals were running shit when we went into Afghan.  Which BY THE WAY has no oil.

Canadian troops are now out of Afghanistan.  Only a few trainers remain.  John, is Australian.  He is in the mop up crew for Australia before they leave the country.

But ok you are newish so I forgive you for not knowing the John bit.  But really?  Going after the conservatives for Afghan when they didn't.... And calling it a oil thing when..There is no oil there?  Yeah okay cool.  Get your facts straight before you go off like that.

I'm not really new exactly (not really anymore), i know John (a little, even if i haven't had much chance to talk with him). But for the war itself, if it's not about taking oil, than what is the purpose of that conflict? It's clearly not about terrorism. Also, as far as i know, Canada are still in this conflict. I have mention Stephen Harper as an exemple, since i'm Canadian, it's not my position to talk about the other nation descision. But i suggest to every nation implies in this conflict to withdraw. This is taking too much money for too little in return.

When the father of George W. Bush was president, W. Bush had created his own oil company in Texas. But the action weren't high, so he decide to sell many of his action to a oil company in the middle east. Of course he had contact with the Hussein family. Him and the other oil company had a deal about oil pipeline in the middle east (exactly where the war took place years later). Then eventually the 9/11 happen. It seem a good hoportunity to take more action. What was about a ''war on terrorist'' ended up being a complete lie. I'm not exactly sure what this war is exactly all about, but there is some oil company out there, somewhere. Too many country are involve in tihs and i don't see why.

If i hate Stephen Harper, is partially about is policy in this whole situation. Why is Canada still involve in this? Like i said, it's something that the US goverment is looking for. Why Harper still let us in this mess is beyond me? How long this conflict is going to stand? Well, yeah, the war is ''over''. But these country are still under occupation.

In 2003, when the war begun, it was because of the ''presence of terrorist''. Then the british discover that they where no terrorist. The main reason why this war happen was not true. Then if we are still involve in this, they need to have reason be to there, don't you agree? We can't be involve just for fun. Someone has to get advantage from this.

If it's just for politic support, it's still unnessecary. I mean, don't we have our own trouble to take care of?

Ugh...Okay so I had this nice cool post typed up, hit the wrong button on my mouse and..its gone.  COOL!!! So I'll try to type it again...Although Id rather not..

Anyways I am going to educate you a slight tad Alextendo.  Just because I can and I will.

Back in the day Afghanistan was a monarchy.  But a pretty decent one.  They at least let people play soccer.. Anyways the Soviets invaded, Monarchy booted, and warlords fought off the soviets.  Go warlords!!
Largest group were the Taliban.  So they ended up forming a legal government in Afghan and...turned the country to shit.  Basically men had to be hairy, women wore ghost costumes, electronics were the devil and.. you couldnt have fun.   No seriously, they were the puritans of modern time.  They had public execution day in the old soccer fields...Couldn't use them for soccer so why not killing?

*ahem*  anyways after 9/11 (cause no one gave a shit before) the US told the Taliban to stop letting Bin Laden and his home boys from training on their soil.  Taliban told bush his beard wasn't long enough or some shit thus America said "okay bitchwe are going to invade you".

Which they did.... After Canada.  You see the Liberal, yes LIBERAL government sent in JTF2 before war was even declared.  JTF2 searched, found where main stuff was etc etc etc.  Then when war was declared they went to action. As they were already in Afghanistan.. Which has no oil btw.

Then last year Canada pulled out its troops (yes we are gone) minus a hand full of support trainers for the Afghan military. They will be gone early 2014 I think.

Anywhoo...
Bush went a bit stupid and invaded Iraq..Yeah nothing there.  So the Liberals said "Nah we will sit this bad boy out"  Conservatives said they would go to Iraq but..When they took power they didn't.  Which is cool.  Iraq was a dumb thing.

Anyways point here is Harper has not sent anyone to war..Except maybe sending jets and a boat to  Libya. Which was a UN led no fly zone and... Well I guessthey wanted to make up for Rwanda..The UN that is.

Anyways thats that.  Oil didn't bring us into the war, we were there first, Liberals did it, not conservatives (But if you wish the Liberals let people hang on soccer nets..cool) and we aren't even there any more.

Please don't talk to me like that, i don't like it. Make me feel like i'm being taken like a kid (and that's always rub me in the wrong way).

I've heard the backstory about the Soviet in the late 70's to the 80's (not in details, but still). But fot the actual state of event, no matter which political side bring us in this, right now it's the Harper right wing who is in charge. So, the actual goverment (and right here and now the right wing is in the lead) don't do much to get us out of there. If so many country are still involve in this mess, it has to be a reason for this. If there is no oil, then what are we doing there? All the ''main terrorist leader'' had fun to hang around with dancing rope, so what's left to do? I don't thing anyone just stay there to have fun playing baseball with grenade.

Harper said he will withdraw the troop for 2014, sure, but should we trusted him? He pushed back to a later date the end of the operation more than once, he can do it again. All of that is very expensive, this money could be put in something more usefull, like fixing our own social issue. Did the middle east is really something we should stick our nose into? Can't the US take care of that alone? They are the one who keep sending drone strike there which kill innocent civilian and commit war crime all the time. Why so many other country (including Canada) are still there? If anyone know, i would really want you to tell me.

You can't just go into a country, remove a government and then take off.  You have to rebuild it.   Otherwise you will just be leaving it in the same situation that you found it in.

Also the Harper government sped up the return of Canadian soldiers.. And again we are no longer there minus a hand full of trainers,  Very few countries remain in Afghan.  You can't just pull that many troops out in a day.  It takes a while.

It doesn't matter what political party sent each military in...Each country has a responsibility on the world stage after,  You can't just run away.  Takes a while to set things up again and start removing armies.

It's not that i don't want to belive you, but when i heard how there's still drone strike operation and all, it doesn't seem like recontruction is really on the way. After all, if more operation is still ongoing, it might be too soon to talk about rebuilt anything.

Also the Harper government sped up the return of Canadian soldiers.. And again we are no longer there minus a hand full of trainers,  Very few countries remain in Afghan.  You can't just pull that many troops out in a day.  It takes a while.

More than a decade later, i still think it should have happen a long time ago. Beside, in the East Canada, we rarely ever heard something from the West (including news from politic). Even if we are still within the same country, information don't go well from the english West to the french East. I must assume that you heard more about the federal politic from your coastline more than i do. The only thing we heard from the West are when there is some political news from Ottawa. So when something happen, and how politicial from the West say something, it's not guaranty that we (those like me from the East) heard of it.

It doesn't matter what political party sent each military in...Each country has a responsibility on the world stage after,  You can't just run away.  Takes a while to set things up again and start removing armies.

I'm not saying it should be seen as ''running away'', but this isn't our fight. We were bring into this since we are part of the NATO.

PS: I'm not sure if any American in this forum (or anyone else from any other nation for that matter) know what we are talking about when i said earlier about the problem between the West and the East of Canada. Well, one thing is sure, if you live in Canada, you are for sure aware of the communication issue we have in here, since Canada is a English/French country (and the language barrier is a bitch).

As funny as it sound, politic look like that some time to time.

Also, i strongly suggest to everyone to watch the movie Bon Cop Bad Cop (or at least watch the trailer). It's a hilarous Canadian police movie in which a policeman from Montreal is forced to work with a policeman from Toronto. One is french, the other is english. Two different province, same country and same case of a serial killer to find.

Here's the trailer (btw, the movie is available in blu-ray and dvd):

Take a look at this (funny scene where the two are talking about swearing in Quebec french):

Review of the movie (the blu-ray release): http://www.blu-ray.c...ay/9527/#Review

Little trivia: The guy who do the Montreal policeman (the actor name is Patrick Huard) is the same actor who did the french voice of Garfield in the two movie.

The United States has Four Major War Crimes.  All were caused by Soldiers actions on their own,  not acting under their superiors or the US Governments orders.  While I'm not justifying these crimes, War Crimes happen in every war and are impossible to stop, and that the actions of individual soldiers acting against policy and against government orders, it should not be blamed on the country but rather the individuals themselves.  Just saying.

Apparently you can get great deals by trading TF2 crate keys for games on Steam. (Apologies if I posted this already. I don't remember.)

The other day I got Payday 2, a $30 game, for 9 keys, or just under $20. Today I got Europa Universalis IV Extreme + Crusader Kings II ($40.49 total, going by the price I'd get for pre-ordering now; full price is $45 without CK2 bundled in) for 13 keys, or about $27.95. Since I already have CK2 and the extra can be traded for about four TF2 keys, it really only cost me 9 keys, or about $19.35. So I essentially get a 50% discount!

The drone strike which kill i don't how how much civilian are authorised by the goverment. Therefore, the goverment are directly responsible for war crime. All of that under the excuse of ''well, they might be terrorist''.

For something else, i went to a train museum and i bring back photo and video. I'll upload it later (i need to do some cut and/or editing).

Alex theres a poltics topic for a reason...

Yes, i'm aware of that, but since it fit to the conversation we had.... Beside, the politic topic is now like a ghost town. No one had went there since.....a long time to say the least.

Edit: One picture of the museum down below.

Holy cow! I try to do a montage of my video record of my journey to the museum, but when i compile the video files together, it's extremely jerky :( . I can't upload it in this condition! But at least i can still post some picture. And thanks to computer and imagery program, i've add a filter to give a late 19 century/early 20th century color style. I love computer. :)

So yeah, i had a fun day

(I'll had the original photo along with the old-style modified one to give a comparaison)
