I played it, and it was good the 3 first weeks. But after finish the game (mine was Yellow Version) it was getting very annoying. I just had to carry on with pokemon because was the latest rage. If you try to like something that you don't like, you will hate it a lot. Nowdays I just don't give a shit to pokemon. If at least had something new...but is the same crap in every game. I played the latest version some months ago and I refuse to continous playing after 1h because it was like Yellow versión, just with better graphics new items etc etc, but the same plot, same gameplay.
So basicaly, I was forced to like pokemon. It was very frustrating at my age I couldn't share my feelings about videogames. There was awesome games: Tombi, Metal Gear Solid, Sonic, Bomberman, Team Buddies, Shyphon Filter, Alundra, Tony Hawks, Counter Strike, Age of Empires, Heroes & Might and Magic, Light Crushaders, Resident Evil, Castlevania...etc. But not, my classmates only play pokemon, pokemon and pokemon. "Let's race who lvl first dragonite to 100"... Really?.
I'm happy that now I have internet and can share ideas with another people that have the same feelings. The proof is that I get along with people 7-10 years older than me. I said a lot of times. I'm happy of my life, but I think I should had born 7 years before because my mind never fitted with my generation. It's fit with the previous generation.
Btw the only cute character I like from pokemon is this one:

I don't find Pikachu cute. I just see it as a fat rat (Sorry fans of Pikachu

Nowdays I just don't give a shit to pokemon. If at least had something new...but is the same crap in every game. Not that I think pointless Repetition is fun and not that I'm saying I'm a huge fan of the Pokemon games myself, but I find this the overused excuse.
And not just for Pokemon.
Honestly a lot of video games are just graphical upgrades from the version that come before. Almost Every Mario game is just a slight enhancement of the previous version. True for every Sonic game, Zelda Game, Halo Game, Age of Empires, StarCraft, Castlevania, Metal Gear, etc.
Now I understand getting the same crap over and over again with little changes is annoying *glares at Capcom*. However game designers have also learned over the years that if they stray too far from their roots fans still complain. Notorious games including Mario is Missing, Star Fox Adventures, Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts, Halo Wars, Sonic Chronicles the Dark Brotherhood, Sonic Racer, and Shadow the Hedgehog. Now yes, most these games on the list are also bad games in other senses but still....
Personally I found Star Fox Adventures to be one of the funnest games on the Gamecube. Yeah it doesn't play like a Star Fox game. It plays like a Zelda game (it actually uses a Zelda Game Engine). But when was that a bad thing? Ignoring the Zelda CD-I games, there hasn't ever really been a bad Zelda game. Why is Star Fox Adventures considered bad for playing similar when to Zelda just because it plays different from the other Star Fox Games?
Because of this, game designers rarely break from their comfort zones, focusing on milking franchises dry by only designing games with elements they know will sell. Example is the New Super Mario Bros Series. Yes they do play awfully the same, but they do provide new power ups, new stages, and new enemies. Honestly they did everything right to call the game a sequel.
Same with Pokemon. While the games all play similar, by adding new moves, new pokemon, new items, upgrading the graphics, and giving the game a new storyline, they have successfully created a sequel. Also noting that the Bomberman series and Age of Empires Series both follow this method of only graphical upgrades and slight gameplay alteration between sequels.
Now I do know some games such as the Metal Gear Franchise seem to greatly change from sequel to sequel. However a lot of this has to do with the fact that each game in the series has basically come out on a new console every time. This cause huge graphical improvements to the series and allows for more complex gameplay and controls. However every Metal Gear game at its core is still the same basic concepts. Use stealth to sneak into an enemy fortress to stop the nuclear launch from a "Metal Gear".
Now I'm not telling you that you have to like Pokemon for it's repetitiveness. I'm not saying you have to accept every game made in a series just because you liked the previous one. I'm not saying you can't have your own opinions. I'm just saying that judging a game poorly solely because it plays similar to the other games in its series is a very poor method of judging specifically because whenever game designers do try to break the norm, the response from their fans is that they should have stayed with their roots.
Also there are plenty of Pokemon spin-off games (such as Pokemon Ranger, Mysterious Dungeon, and Conquest) that do not play the same as the others.
And I do also agree that there are tons of other good games out there and nobody should have to like Pokemon just because everyone else does.
And again I don't mean to hound on Teirusu because of his opinions. He just provided the opening for me to rant on this personal pet-peeve of mine.

First of all, yes I know is a poor way to judge a game. But I have a question. if you dislike a game so much and you can't continous playing it you can't judge it?
I know that is a poor way to judge, thats why I never judge a game about what I didn't played. I don't consider this a gamer forum, thats why I usualy explain my opinions a bit poorly. Anyway, I rarely complain about a game that I don't like but lol, I didn't expected this could hapen...I will have to watch my mouth next time
I'm the one that I think I should no waste time on speak about what I don't like. It's completely pointless. More when you talking about repetition and you are a fan of Sonic. You won't never see me complaining "POKEMON IS A BULLSHIT" or something like that in a regular topic but it is 10.000 pages or bust so well didn't try make an hard post. I know Pokemon is good, the sales talks for itself. I just don't like it and I won't try convince people that is a bad game. I prefer speak about how great is Sonic. Don't you think so? I know most of Pokemon fans won't see my point of "What's the point of make a pokemon lvl 100 in a yellow version"? That's why I don't talk about this things. In a friendly forum like this I usually throw shit like this because well, if you say for example Sonic R suck, I would laugh and say fuck you joking and keeping laughing. Never expect I could "offend" here saying a poorly comment about pokemon, more in a 10.000 pages or more topic. For example in videogames topics I talk more slowly and reasonably, not like the shit I throw here
Pokemon of course have spin-offs and I played it. I like for example Pokemon Pinball or Mysterious Dungeon. Thats why I still know the name of some pokemons. I also watched the movie (the power of one) and was amazing. Is just...If you don't like a game at all, if they make another game exactly the same with some "changes", rarely you will play again. That is what hapens with me and pokemon. I still watch some spin-offs to see if I like them or not, but I don't care anymore about the main game. Is again what you said, is a poor way to judge, but you really think Pokemon will change after 5,10 or 15 years of making the same games again and again? You answer yourself
Because of this, game designers rarely break from their comfort zones, focusing on milking franchises dry by only designing games with elements they know will sell.
Look Resident Evil, they are changing their games Horror/ "Survival" to Horror / Action and a lot of fans are complaining about RE 6 is now crap although the game is awesome. I know is not RE anymore, but the game is way cool.
Don't worry, I argue a lot of times about videogames. I know what you mean and i know is not atack, for fuck sake. If we have all the same opinions this world would be completely boring.
Au contraire that you. I'm completely agree with all you said. I just should explained better and not with that stupid poorly comment. I'm sorry.

Well he WAS captured by US forces and was a P.O.W. so what better way to mess with Saddam is to make him watch the South Park Movie? (if you have seen the movie you understand why he would be forced to watch it)
Brilliant. Just fucking brilliant.
