@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Nah, that's just what Sega would expect from me at this point. It must be a trap!

Okay, midnight delusions aside, I probably won't play it, but the rest of FUS has the right to be warned of this impending abomination lumbering its way into E3! Buy/rent at your own parole!

It's about as much an abomination as Super Mario Kart.

Overreact much?

Didn't Sonic Adventure 2 have some sort of go-kart racing in it that you could do?

No, this is for real I got the press release yesterday. It kind of makes me wounder, did they learn anything from Sonic Drift? I mean they are just trying to create a Mario cart competitor. As far as I am concerned it as more potential to suck less. I mean its a cart racing game, they can only be so bad. Plus its aimed at kids, not the usual Sonic demographic. So for those of you that are serious about Sonic games just ignore this one. Sega is trying to evolve with times, but unfortunately forgetting about everyone who used to play on a genesis. And go figure right after Sega says the don't have any new Sonic games for E3. I am going to have to have a talk with my PR rep.

Eh, I hear the M&M racing one is pretty awful. But who knows, could be a decent game. I agree that it probably has a better chance than all of sucktastic attempts to turn a 2D formula into 3D.
Why go crazy and condemn it before you play it? Sonic doesn't have a reputation to protect anymore, he might as well just try to be fun again.
More importantly to Sega- kart racing is one of the few areas of the coveted casual gaming spot that could have a few more games crammed in it. They already tried and failed with Sonic Shuffle and Sega Tennis.

This doesn't come as much of a surprise to me, of course SEGA would try to create something as popular as Mario Kart but whether they succeed is another matter.

Umm...isn't having sonic driving a go-cart redundant since he can run faster than the speed of sound?

That argument went out the window with the Olympics game.
And even if you disagree just think of it as evening the playing field for the other characters.

Yeah, this sounds about right for the SEGA of today. It doesn't make a lot of sense, though. Aren't SEGA and Nintendo working together in some form anyway? Why not just put Sonic in with the rest of the Mario cast for Mario-Kart? Kinda like the way they put Sonic in Brawl.

Pure profits to Sega from all of the sales of the game for one. For another Mario Kart has always been Nintendo only and I doubt they'd put the series seal on a shared game. As apposed to Brawl which was already going to have third party characters in the form of Konami's Solid Snake anyway. And when you think about it- the Super Smash Bros. series really needs new characters (with new moves, strategies etc.) to keep the formula fresh with each new iteration. Whereas with Mario Kart all it needs to be is a graphical update and perhaps slight tweak to the original in gameplay.

That's an underrated game, but Amy was the one who used a car in there, Sonic used a car in the Sonic Drift duology for Game Gear, so it's pointless to complain about Sonic in a car...

You guys seriously didn't see it coming? I've been waiting for it since SEGA sold it's soul to Nintendo! And then even more after Sonic Riders. Seriously, you didn't forget Sonic Riders right? So this is no surprise and no shock. Was ready for it and I'll do as I do with Mario Kart. Play it with someone else just for the fun of it and never touch it again on my own.

The only thing I would have complained about was if Eggman did not have a Monster Truck as he clearly does~ X3 And is it me or was he gonna come in first until Sonic used the Nitro because he screwed up? 8D

Also, isn't there a Tennis All Stars game too? I think that's worst, and there WILL be a Winter Olympics one.

You know, think SEGA ran out of evil deities bent on world destruction for Sonic....er, Whatever extra new character they come out with saves it or Eggman himself. So now they're all having vacations and fun! And since Eggman's never been a real threat and steps more into the good side than otherwise having fun along with him isn't a surprise. Now have them make up some random excuse for Eggman to compete like in Riders....stupid, stupid flying carpet... x.x

Alright so I know everyone here as pretty low expectations for this game, but I just got to play it and I have to say I am kind of impressed. The games isn't do out until early 2010, but yet the quality was extraordinary. I had to admit that I had fun playing. It was defiantly better than any crash nitro racing game and could very easily rival mario cart. Obviously it wasn't done yet and there were only 8 characters with a few attacks and one level. However, despite all this its clear that SEGA is putting some effort into this game. Unfortunately they were not allowing us to film the game, but Game Trailers got an interview with a developer (I was standing behind them while they did it), so if your curious I ams sure they will post it soon. The game has all the standard elements that make the game fun to play, weapons, drifting, power ups, specials, boosts and so on. I wouldn't write this game off quite yet. And oh I suppose I can add that Sonic doesn't always use his car, his special allows him to run in Super Sonic mode(very effective for catching you up), so at least he isn't restricted to a slower motive of transportation. I have an audio interview so ill be typing up an article later tonight. Feel free to ask any questions.

Well, I'm not really suprised at all. Sonic in a car will also be a stupid idea, but SEGA knows kids will buy it anyways.

Oh, I WILL enjoy it. I enjoyed Sonic Riders, even more when playing against someone else. The reason I'll probably put it down it's just because it's a racing game and I always get bored of racing games or any other sports game after a while.
Heck, I even enjoyed Heroes and that's pretty much the worst game to most of the fandom. With game, I am flexible, because that's what they are, games. Meant to be fun and enjoyable not annoying or upsetting.

And heck! I did racing comics yeaaaaars ago when I was drawing Sonic comics! So in a way I'll be excited to see things I thought of back then in the game. I was with Riders because I used to draw hoverboards too. And Eggman's already got a Monster Truck(wheels at least...) so that one got points from me as it's what I wanted to see him on. My inner little fangirl is happeh~ X3
