@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Some people don't know when to quit. Without Sega's support he is screwed. Unless of courses he did the whole thing for free, which doesn't sound like his style. Even then I suspect he would run into some problems.

That's not the same thing as a cease & desist as a fan project, since he doesn't have to contact Sega to do a fan project (though of course it's copyright infringement and Sega could still send a C&D for it). Still funny, though.

Ehh he put it back up, but my comment is missing, no surprise there.

Make a parody channel and mirror his videos, allow all comments. Add this to the beginning though, "This video is provided under the fair use clause to allow unbiased commentary from the community. As such, if the original author chooses to file false DMCA claims on this video and any others in this channel, he shall be doing it under the pain of having perjury charges brought against him."

If he tries to take the videos down, contact DMCAabuse on Youtube and tell them your story. They will provide coverage and expose his attempt at censoring unfavourable commentary.

I would if I cared that much, although it may be fun. Perhaps I will in the future just to spite him.
He blocked me from posting anymore comments on his videos, which I think is a bit over the top, but none the less confirms that everything I said was true. Anyone else care to post comments on his video?

Is that really fair use, though? I couldn't exactly upload the new Star Trek film under fair use just because I put a message like that at the start of it. (Of course, the Star Trek film has literary merit whereas anything Sonmanic says or does is automatically garbage, but copyright law doesn't care about that.)

OMG!!! I can't believe he's actually doing this!! Man, he sure doesn't know when to quit, and yet, I wonder if any of the people he has 'employed' will someday quit on him, once they find out that he's just a 'prick' and a 'jackass!' That Screw Attack guy really doesn't know what he's getting himself into, and once he does, i think it'll bite him hard in the ass! I sure hope that Sonmanic's project fails BIG time!!

Well there is monetary value to the Star Trek films, but the YouTube ToS says something to the effect that any original content uploaded there is subject to be used freely by anyone else who whishes to use said content for their purposes.

Unfortunately, no, it's not cool. This is A Knothole Resident (a.k.a. Richard Kuta) we're talking about, who has consistently shown himself to be incompetent, whiny, untrustworthy, a ripoff artist, and so on. He has been banned from FUS more times than we can count. His screenplay is laughable. I hate to say it, but there is nothing good that can come from this.

The ScrewAttack guy frankly has no idea what he's talking about (although that's hardly a surprise because he wasn't actually there). For instance, the movie didn't "almost" get picked up. That's what happened in Richard Kuta's mind, but he was probably far, far away from getting it picked up and if he was told otherwise it was almost certainly out of politeness.

Agree. If I were Rich, I would need some good, good extra help. And beileve me, he'll need some better theraptist.

And you know guys, I feel sorry for Rich. I really do. He's still in his late 20's, unmarried, could not tell if he's in a better career or not, and he's still acting like a little kid whose is a huge annoying big fan of some kids show. I just wish he has good family and freinds to help out and to watch over him or some sort. I don't know.

Rich if you're reading this, please get yourself a theraptist or some sort. Please do!

Well, he probably thinks this could be his big ticket into his career of choice. Trust me, I have some EPIC ideas for a Sonic trilogy, but until I feel I have the right contacts (which would mean having the workable personality to get those contacts on good terms with me in the first place), than I'm not gonna try anything with that. I have a few, lower budget ideas that I might use to introduce myself into the industry. And right now I'm doing everyone else's television projects in order to meet these contacts in a business situation first. That's the best way to do it.
I believe in what I want to believe in, you believe in what you want to believe in, so when someone wants to believe in something, no one will know what to believe!

Thing is, the first step to recovering from something like....this...is to recognize you (general sense) have a problem. He refuses and fails to recognize he has a problem and does not face responsibility, and it does not appear likely he will any time soon. Therapist is probably far out of his reach currently, with that said. Honestly, I will be surprised if he ever owns up to his own mistakes and stupidity.

Soon after he realized that Sega and Hollywood are never, ever going to approve the script, he published it online for anybody to read. After a while he took it down, for whatever reason, but not before we got our hands on it.

So I was always under the impression that this was SatAM based film...and then I read his some of his script. Did he ever watch SatAM? I mean the first 5 pages look more like they belong in a SonicX world than anything else. I won't even go into some of the cliche moments. I guess I can give him props for actually writing an entire script though.

His rationale was that including the newer SegaSonic characters would make the movie easier to sell on Sega, and on modern audiences who are more familiar with SegaSonic / Sonic X than the show. And in that regard, he's almost certainly right, but in my opinion it's not really a SatAM movie in that case. An Archie Sonic movie, perhaps, but eh.
