@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Battlefield Earth: F-

After having a conversation with ManicDeathThrash about this film, it inspired me to watch this movie again, to see if it was as bad as I remember it was.

Fuck me, is it awful.

Never have I ever wanted to punch John Travolta in the face more than when I watched this movie, he isn't even a bad actor, but his performance in this movie was so fucking annoying! the smug bastard could have atleast put some effort into being a goddamn dreadlocked alien in platform boots.

I'm not sure how Travolta's Scientology Overlords managed to convince him to get this movie made, but the world would be a better place without this failed abortion of cinema.

May your Body Thetons agitate you for millenia, John Travolta.

The Howling III: The Marsupials. A+
This's a strong contender with The Thing for the spot of my favorite movie. Werewolves're cool, but werethylacines're better. It's a good, solid horror/comedy. Definitely the best $5.00 I've ever spent, and probly ever will.

Heh...it's been too long since I saw it to properly grade it, but I recall also rather enjoying "The Marsupials". :3

Anywho...

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Acts I and III: A
Act II: B+

Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen- 7/10.
A good summer movie with a lot of action, funny jokes, and Megan Fox.
However, there were some parts in there that I would say are unnecessary for an action movie.

Black Hawk Down- 9.5/10

One of the greatest war movies ever made, it's brutally realistic about modern warfare.
I would recommend it to anybody who likes any kind of war movie.

Firestarter: B+. Just not quite up to my standards for "A-". Though the destruction of the compound/farm and the music for that part are perty damn cool, the rest of the movie just kinda seems to be limping along toward that part.

I have the story somewhere, but it's been 12 years since I've read it...

Transformers 2: 6.5/10

It was ok but way, way too long with a rushed ending. They managed to draw it out over 2.5 hours but as soon as the "bad guy" is finished off the movie is over in 5 minutes. There's a couple of minor plot holes and untied ends too.

Like the whole cover-up thing, even though they had that huge battle at the end of the 1st one? I never got that, the population there is either really stupid or the government is really good at covering up things.

Yes, but smaller still as well. For example, what happened to the Decepticon hugging the satellite? How did that guy who got tased unconscious in the back of the car get up and run so quickly?

2010: D-. A few good moments and a lot of crap.

The Patriot: L-. Even the action scenes sucked. I had to suffer through it cause it was on the TV while we were having supper and celebrating my uncle's belated birthday.

UP: A-

One of the best uses of 3-D I've seen. Not too flashy, just enough of it for you to "feel" your surrounding. The cool side-effect is that the surround sound feels more natural in a seemingly natural 3-D environment. That, and it was better than the "We're hiding our horrible movie with unrealistic 3-D gimmicks" Monsters vs. Aliens or Journey to the Center of the Earth.

Pete Doctor returns for his second directorial role for this movie. With his last movie being Monster Inc., it really shouldn't surprise me that he was able to pull off such an emotional film, being that he pulled off the one or two emotional scenes in Monster Inc. very well.

UP had it's animation cliches, like talking dogs, but they made a way for it to be manageable and it didn't distract from the story.

And when I look back at UP, I remember the movie itself. Not "Cool! It was 3-D!" aspect of it And that's how all movies should be done. 3-D or not.
I believe in what I want to believe in, you believe in what you want to believe in, so when someone wants to believe in something, no one will know what to believe!
Believe it or not...

I saw Transformers. Kind of hard to rate it, since my knowledge of Transformers is limited to Transformers commercials, but I'd give it about a 5/10. I wasn't bored with the movie, but it was even more juvenile than I expected. The over-sexualized portrayal of pretty much every female seemed directly proportionate to the sheer ugliness of all the guys in the movie. It felt like watching a kid smash his toys together with his hands for two hours.

I've seen worse, though. I only went to see Transformers because the opening scene was filmed at a factory in my hometown and I wanted to see it.

Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen
A-
I have never followed the series outside of the movies, so for me it was simply an awesome "blow shit up" kind of movie. I thought it was epic, liked the story, and despite what I have heard, did not notice any plot holes. Believe me. I would be the one to notice them. I am very judgmental when I rate movies, books, T.V. shows etc...

But I really liked this one.

Friday the 13th (2009): A. Great adaptation of the first 3 movies, with some real thought put into it, as we're dealing with pre-zombie Jason. Also, some nifty nods to the original. But, I'm not fond of sex in movies, so that drags it down from the A+ potential. I do like it better than the original, because we aren't dealing with a crazy old woman.

My Sister's Keeper

Seriously. It was nothing like the book! They added a bunch of shit to the main plot, that never happened in the book. They also made a very small, two page story about the main character, take up like half of the movie!

I know that movies can't be super long, but the only reason this one was made, was because the book was so dang popular!

I mean really. How could they have fucked it up that bad?
