@  furrykef : (25 July 2015 - 03:35 AM)

When was that? Depending on when it was, it might have been a DNS issue. Those should be gone now.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie: 7/10

Yep. You read that right. Ironically, it's shorter than most episodes. The movie is basically just a theatrical episode where the group riffs most of "This Island Earth". The host segments follow a small plot where the crew tries to escape. Very underwhelming, but just as satisfying as the show.

I re watched The Great Mouse Detective last night. It's still a great Disney movie. I'd probably give it an 8.5 or so now that I'm older. I just found out too that Vincent Price was Ratigan.

Ooh Great Mouse Detective i love! i have it on blu-ray and it looks/sounds sharper than ever no doubt. I saw that when it first came to theaters 27 years ago when i was 4 years old and one of the first animated movies i ever saw on the big screen and i loved it! i had a stuffed Basil doll, storybook, readalong with cassette and coloring books. I even saw the re-issue in theaters when i was 9 going on 10 even got the film for christmas 21 years ago. I even had a major crush on the sexy stripper Miss Kitty Mouse (remember her?) when i was 4 and 10 as i recalled the first time i saw her i was blushing, i blame her with Cleo on Heathcliff and Cheetara on Thundercats for making me a furry since then, lol.

The Burning on blu-ray: 9/10 excellent overlooked 1981 slasher film that is considered by some a rip-off of Friday The 13th but it WASN'T, it was written in 1979 and was thought up long before Friday The 13th came to theaters and is based on the campfire legends of Cropsy. This one stars Jason Alexandre (with a head full of hair), Holly hunter and Fisher Stevens in early film roles as this one deals with an abusive camp counselor who got into a terrible prank accident done by camp kids as it causes him to be burned severely then 5 years after being in the big city's hospital of surgical skin grafts they couldn't fix him as he is twisted and disfigured. He goes back to the camp with a sharp pair of sheers to get revenge. This is one where the campers are likeable and you feel pity for them as they are innocent as they didn't do anything to Cropsy, Tom Savini did the excellent make-up and gore effects here. I remembered when i was 5 when i rented this on video and thought it was scary as hell and gory as hell too, the blu-ray looks and sounds great with terrific extras that only the awesome Scream Factory can do.

The Town That Dreaded Sundown on blu-ray: 9/10 another overlooked cult classic horror thriller but this one is based on real crimes. It's set in 1946 it deals with the Texarkana area where the police are searching for a hooded masked killer. I saw this on video when i was 7 and thought it was scary as hell! it's very well made, shot and violent sometimes like the trombone death sequence, this one is by Charles B Pierce who gave us Legend of Boggy Creek. It's a cult fave no doubt and i had this on a blank tape since i was a teen when i made myself a copy and i had it for years as in the last decade i yearned for a DVD release yet when Shout/Scream Factory announced it i was excited as i threw the tape in the trash and it looks/sounds fantastic on high def plus it has 1979's The Evictors included as a bonus disc on the blu-ray/DVD combo. Scream Factory rocks!

Critters: 8/10 a very fun and enjoyable Sci-fi horror comedy that is very similar to EC horror/Sci-fi comics and 50's sci-fi plus Gremlins but it was written before Gremlins, this one stars Billy Zane with Emmet Walsh from Blade Runner with Scott Grimes. I saw this in theaters when i was 4 2 times and thought it was fun especially with those great special effects like that amazing transformation of Ug the bounty hunter from no-face to rock singer which amazed me, i wonder how they did it.

Critters 2 The Main Course: 8/10 i saw this in theaters when i was 6 and i loved it as i probably liked it more than the original but still loved the first one. This one had action, comedy, some drama and not to mention that kickass memorable sequence where one of the bounty hunters transforms into a very hot nude blonde centerfold with epic tits, i had a crush on her.

Dick Tracy on blu-ray: 9/10 one of my favorite comic based movies, i saw this in theaters when i was 8 4 times and i loved it. I had some of the merchandise as a kid and dressed up as Dick Tracy for Halloween, i even watched reruns of the 60's cartoon show. This movie is much similar to Sin city but years later with the same comic style and all and a nice cast especially Al Pacino as Big Boy Caprice. I also gotta say that Madonna never looked hotter than in this movie as Breathless Mahoney and i remembered blushing when i saw her on the big screen, when she came out in that scene wearing that black silky see-through nightgown with her epic knockers nearly shown, MY GOD! i became a man, lol.

Mulan on blu-ray: One of my favorite Disney animated movies and an underrated one too! i saw this 3 times in theaters even at the boulder city station Casino-Hotel in Las Vegas on opening day when i was 16 and enjoyed it. Such a fun, emotional and well made animated feature with great animation, likable characters and a rousing score by Jerry Goldsmith! Eddie Murphy was hilarious as Mushu, Miguel Ferrer had a creepy voice as Shan-Yu and i gotta say Mulan herself is quite cute for an Asian toon chick (when she's not in drag). The picture looks and sounds very sharp on high def.

All Quiet on the Western Front: 7.5/10

Oh boy! This is some old stuff right there! This is an 1930 American anti-war movie that show the first world war from the German perspective. It is some of the first full length feature movie and fully voiced with sound and all! The movie is about a group of young German adult who are proud to join the army in 1914, proud to fight for their fatherland.......until they reach the front. They will see hell on Earth! This is their story, from the horror they will eyewitness from 1914 to 1918. This old black and white movie is now avaiable in blu-ray (this is the version i have), which provide this classic with excellent (or should i dare to say ''amazing'') video quality. Despite his age, this movie have aged fairly well. In fact, i like it better than some modern war movie *cough Pearl Harbor cough*......*cough Paschendale cough*.

PS: Just a little mention for the acting: They are average, with some up and down here and there.

If my english can look like crap, don't kill me...please? French is my native language!

Remember Pearl Harbor was a Michael Bay movie so it has low expectations in the first place

Canada sign in the First World War in 1914 to support the British in the war effort agaisnt Germany (the United State will not join the war effort until only 1917). Surprisingly enough, the Canada was one of (if not) the worst nightmare for the German. Each time the German knew they will fight the Canadian Royal Army, they always expect the worst to come. In the end, they called us the ''Stormtrooper'' (i'm not kidding!). Canada manage to make enormous victory at some battle where no one else manage to achieve, like the battle of Vimy Ridge or Pashendale. Heck, have you seen the 20$ Canadian bill? There's the Vimy Ridge monument on it!

Canada declare war agaisnt Nazi Germany in 1939, not long after the invasion of Poland (September 1, 1939). Once again, the United State will join the war but later on (after the Japanese Empire assault on Pearl Habor in December 7, 1941). We were one of the main country to provide military supply to the Soviet Union (all of these supply were built and manufacture in Canada) Also, when the war end, the Canada has the 3th biggest naval fleet in the world.

Canada also fight in the Korean war (1950-1953), alongside the American, British, French (but not alot of them, because they was busy in the Indochina war (1946-1954)) and of course, the South Korea.

We have missed the Vietnam war....not that it's a bad thing

PS: This is the ancient Canadian flag (this is the 1957 to 1965 version, which is slightly different from the previous version)
Update: I've add the actual new Canadian 20$ bill with the picture of the Vimy Ridge monument for comparaison.

Hey Ben, when i've talked about the (shitty) movie Passchendaele, you might as well take a look at the battle scene. The battle scene are the only good thing that i've manage to find in this shit fest. The first scene in the movie is an action scene and it look like this: .
The final battle at the end look like that: . The battle itself in this scene is pretty cool, but BEWARE! Around 5:20 in the video, you'll see something SO FREAKING STUPID that could maybe make your brain explode. What you've saw in these 2 video are the only fun moment of this movie, because for the rest of this cinematic disaster, there is only a cliché and uninteresting love story between a soldier and a nurse.
