When was that? Depending on when it was, it might have been a DNS issue. Those should be gone now.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

This movie is just unbelievable from start to finish. Its a lot to take in, but as along as you don't over think it and pay attention, everything is right there for you.

Danny Glover wasn't exactly a thrilling successor to Arnie.

Not only did Danny Glover beat the Predator to the point of It activating it's onboard Muslim ka-boom device, he stopped it from exploding by cutting of it's arm, pummelled the Predator down a second time after tracking it back to the Pred's ship, gutted and killed it with it's own weapon, stared down an entire squad of more Predators before escaping the ship and walking away to tell the tale. That's way more bad-arse than anything Arnie did who only covered mud all over himself and got lucky with a Wild E Coyote trap. wink.gif

Well not to go fanboy, but that Predator lured him back to his ship where he gave mr tough cop the beating of his life with one arm btw, and a poke in the guts. Only reason he lost was the Predators are always cocky and like to drop their guard alot. Still...he did do alot better than the wimps and fodder in the AVP films.

A- Lack of depth with the characters, but I don't really care. I mean, it's the same faults that The Matrix had, and I didn't care then either. The film was flippin' awesome. We didn't even have Keanu Reeves polluting this movie.

More detailed review in a couple of days.

Salt. Not as fucking awesome as The Expendables, but very entertaining nonetheless. A shame about it's 'insert generic sequel cliff-hanger here' scene at the finale, though. Chiwetel Ejiofor seriously needs to be in more movies; he's a pretty damn good actor when given the right role (Serenity).

I finished this review a while ago. How on Earth did I forget to post it?

INCEPTION
8.5/10

It's odd how, among all of the comic book films and remakes of stuff we've already seen before, a film with as much intrigue and potential as The Matrix can still be produced.

Inception follows a team of mind hackers and thieves as they embark on something that's in over all of their heads: try to cause someone to change his thinking by hacking his brain and planting the idea inside. The team is lead by Mr. Cobb, who is attempting to get the false accusations of murder acquitted so he can go back to being a father to his children.

The movie seems to be set up in two halves. The first half explains everything. Normally exposition to this extent is a very long and arduous posses in a movie for the viewer. But director Christopher Nolan handles the visuals accompanying the exposition so well that the viewer doesn't even realize that he's being spoon-fed all sorts of ridiculous ideas.

The second half of the movie is where the rubber meets the road, and the team begins their journey into the mind of a very successful buisness man in order to get him to change his mind about his company goals. But the man's mind has been trained to fight invasion and begins to fight back with a vengeance.

The visuals are stunning! Forget AVATAR, forget giant robots or any CGI gimmick fest over the past couple of years, this movie is where it's at. Special effects should created by mixing various methods, not just computer animation. And GOOD special effects should be like watching an illusionist at work. You don't know how he's doing what he's doing, all you know is that there are people floating right in front of you. And that's just how it's done for Inception. The fight scene in the hallway alone is just a work seamless trick photography, with absolutely no CGI assistance at all. And even after all that, there are still more stunning visuals that leave you scratching you're head about how it was all done.

And the best part is that every visual effect is used to tell the story. No pointless grandeur moments, no self exalting display of gimmicks. Every awe inspiring visual explains the world of the dream that you're in and pushes the plot forward.

The only issue is that Inception doesn't bother to enrich the characters, making the viewer care about them. The characters, whereas complex in nature, seem to just be there to support the amazing plot rather than the allowing the characters to grow op the viewer. This seems to be a fault in a lot of mind-bending stories, including The Matrix and Paprika. where the characters become secondary to the plot rather than at the forefront of the plot. But in both cases the plot and the visuals keep the viewer interested in the film until the very end. Those who don't see this in theaters will seriously miss out on an amazing experience.
I believe in what I want to believe in, you believe in what you want to believe in, so when someone wants to believe in something, no one will know what to believe!
Believe it or not...

The Departed. An excellent crime movie, and all actors totally bring their A game for it. Leonardo DiCaprio continues with his best; Matt Damon does what Matt Damon does; Jack Nicholson plays himself (Ha!); and Mark Wahlberg co-stars in probably the only film in existence to which he is not an annoying fuckbag.

Fun movie that was exactly what I was hoping it'd be. Beautiful women and ugly heroes with gore and explosions
