@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Oh yes, the "ma" thing. That was the worst part.

I like Antoine, and I don't really mind Dulcy. I always thought Dulcy was probably a child anyway, probably around Tails' age. The 'ma' thing is annoying, but not so much that it drives me crazy or anything. xD

I guess there's not really any FF's I dislike. If I had to list the FF's I had the least amount of interest in, then I guess it would be Dulcy, Rotor, and Tails. And that's probably just because they all needed a bit more development and spotlight.

I can't say that I actually hate any of the characters, but Dulcy and Antoine are definitely near the bottom of my list. Antoine was just comedy relief, and Dulcy was mostly irrelevant and not a terribly interesting character for me. I don't really dislike them though, as I said, I just mostly don't care about them.

Yeah, I have to say Dulcy...she's the most forgettable of the group. Usually when I think freedom fighters, Dulcy isn't among the list. Heck, I'm probably more likely to remember Lupe, Griff, and Ari over Dulcy, but that might just be memory repression.

I'm clearly in the minority on this: Sonic. Give me Antoine's goofy Engrish over Sonic's TOTALLY RADICAL early '90s catch-phrases. Granted, some of his lines were genuinely funny, but most of the time he was just kind of obnoxious, and I'll freely admit that I usually find lead characters more boring than the side characters.

Hell, I don't even mind Dulcy that much. And I like Antoine, but that may have more to do with the potential his character had than the actual character himself. :B

Heh, Sonic's way of speaking is a bit grating at times (one particular example is how he'd put "the ol'" in every sentence: "Hey! What's with the ol' vine?"), but I definitely like the character as a whole, though. But these days I probably like him mostly 'cause he contrasts with Sally.

I almost agree with you. But then it was the 90's, and I was a child, and I kinda liked it then.

In most cases, writers try to make the hero character more "plain" than the side characters. There's more of a guarantee that audiences can sympathize with him more if he's not displaying some strange side of himself, and there's more potential for a wide range of emotions if he's not too stereotypical. So that's why you find more interesting side characters a lot of the time.

Oddly enough, Sonic is one of the most stereotypical in the series, second only to Antoine (maybe even tied).

Dulcy runs close, as does Antoine. Both guesses however get no cigar.

Antoine's okay for a comic relief (MARGARINE) but Dulcy's just one Big Lipped Alligator Moment. She came right out of nowhere, she can fly but that really seems the only thing she does for the FF, doesn't fight and doesn't think of any plans, is very forgetable, and she doesn't fit in with the Freedom Fighters at all.

Freedom Fighters consist of:
A hedgehog
A fox
A squirrell
A rabbit
A coyote (a little bit out of place...)
A walrus (that's pretty weird...)
A dragon? (WHAT?)

Not to forget she's not funny at all and never had her moment. I'm warning by little brother and sister, who I addicted with this show, not too watch many episodes with Dulcy.

And last but not least: She looks just stupid. Is this a dragon?

No, that's a silly fat stupid looking winged lizard with a nose ring.

THAT's a damn dragon!

Oh aye, actually it hadn't occurred to me that it might be your own artwork. But I like the art anyway. It's less macho dragon and more semi-amphibious, to look at it.

Antoine, by far. Nothing he ever says or does is funny, with the exception of the "MARGARINE!!" scene. Almost everything else he does comes down to him being scared or mispronouncing words (which, for some strange reason, the other characters always feel the need to correct).

Then they should have developed everyone else more. It's not Sally's fault. <!-- s:P --><!-- s:P -->

Actually, it kind of is. I mean, if you had a character who was designed to foil all your flaws wouldn't really have much of a need for the other characters..

I don't hate any of the characters, but they each have their own weak points.

Sonic: As mentioned earlier, the slang. Some of his dialog seem a bit off (dialog in general was one of the things that drug this show down). This is partially caused by Jaleel not being present with the rest of the cast during recording. Other than that, not much to say. It is his show. Could have used a bit more development.

Sally: I don't have much of a problem with this character, honestly. Again, [better] development would have been nice.

Antione: Good god, this character annoys the shit out of me. The cowardice infuriated me, and his constant whimpering and screaming are grating. He could have been cool if he had been more of a traditional type of hero for Sonic to play off of. Maybe sort a Rush Hour typed deal. Two heros, conflicting style. But no, they had to go with the cowardly French schtik that stopped being funny some 40 years prior.

Rotor: Don't have many complaints on him either, beyond lack of development and screen time. I would have liked the show to have delved into his and Sonic friendship a little more. Also, bad technical writing.

Bunnie: Like the character, minus the accent. I can't claim to have heard every varying dialect in the American south, bu there -is- a correct way to use Y'all, which is three or more. You'ns or y'ens is two. Her dialog in general was kind of terrible.

Tails: Like Rotor, lack of development and screentime.

Dulcy: I was never overly bothered by this character either. She was a bit childish, yes. That should have been toned down as the second season prgressed.

Uncle Chuck: No complaints. Great character.

The problem with SatAM in general is that it was a great idea that was executed in a mediocre (at best) fashion. True, it could have been alot worse, but it also could have been alot better. They should have picked one writer for the whole series. The aborted season three was no help either.

I was disappointed in the dragons of mobius, even though its a cartoon show they could have at least tried to make them fit the dark setting. The small wings and wings on the feet cmon...

And her personality, yech!

Dulcy by far needs an overhaul.
