I wouldn't put Superman above Dark Knight, but that's just me. Dark Knight was better filmmaking in my opinion, in every aspect of the film. Lighting, cinematography, performances, script, characters and their development, set design and costumes/make-up... But that's just how I look at movies. I did like Superman, just not enough to top TDK.
Akira also would rank #2 for me. #1 if we were only doing Japanese Manga to Anime movies. That was the first anime film I saw I actually liked (before that the only anime I knew was Dragon Ball, and, uh... no). Then it lead me down a road to other really cool anime.
I didn't like 300 that much, to be honest. Almost every action scene was shot in slow motion, and it got very tiring after a while... almost to the point where it no longer built up any adrenaline in the action.
I'll go see Watchmen and see how that ranks with the other comic book films I've seen.
Everything else I would probably agree with, except for Superman Returns. That would be closer to the bottom of my list.
Believe it or not...

And yes this is a discussion and not just a list thread ok? So Freaky you like the movies on my list like "Ghost in The Shell", "Howard The Duck", "Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky", "Heavy Metal", "Ninja Turtles", "Ichi The Killer", "The Crow", "Road to Perdition", "Hellboy 1 & 2", "V For Vendetta", "Cemetery Man", "Oldboy" etc.? afterall i remember when i was 5 in 1986 living in St. Louis i saw "Howard The Duck" in a theater with my mom and dad as i loved it yet still do, it's not really so bad nowadays compared to stuff like "Epic Movie" or Jason and Aaron Friedberg's stuff for it's just a fun b-movie and a guilty pleasure which thankfully got a DVD release and got it last week, i enjoy it as much as i a kid.

We wouldn't hate them so much except that we've seen how good they *can* be with the classic graphic novels and books, hell even the original arcade game had a better story, and it definitely was more true to the source material in spirit. The Aliens and the Predators (the latter of which might as well be a whole different species from the original) are a joke. Bah.
Also I see a lot of anime listed, should animated films and things inspired by non-US comics be put in a different category? If so then you might as well say "Favorite Superhero" and "Non Superhero". Well, almost.

Overall, I think my favorite movie made from a comic book is X2, but I definitely have a good deal of affection for Hulk (Ang Lee's version, NOT the more-recent Incredible Hulk) and The Dark Knight as well.

I failed to see Howard the Duck on your list... Yeah... George Lucas' first mistake in a series of several mistakes leading up to the prequel Star Wars trilogy and the director's cut of the original Star Wars trilogy. Not saying you shouldn't have enjoyed it as a kid, but I could see a decline in Lucas' IQ starting with that film.
As for Ninja Turtles, it would depend on which one. The CGI movie was pretty good movie. The first one is still really fun to watch. I like how it winks at it's own absurdity (Raphael walking out of a movie entitled "Critters" while complaining "Where do they come up with this stuff?!?!?!"). TMNT 2 and 3 were just a big waste of my time, even as a kid.
V for Vendetta was ok. A little dialogue heavy, but Hugo Weaving makes it work. To bad Natalie Portman and her fake British accent turned what could have been a really good movie into an "ok" one. If it wasn't for her, I'd think it would be among my top 10.
Hellboy was fun to watch as well. But I couldn't stand the sequel. It wandered WAY too much. It had amazing action sequences separated by long dry spells of poorly executed exposition. As a result, it didn't have an even pacing of the plot at all. Sequel gets pushed further down on my list.
Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky was just so outrageously gory, it was almost funny. Seriously. Not a good film by any stretch of the imagination, but still entertaining to watch. It would probably rank 30 on my list, but I wouldn't shun the film completely.
I haven't seen Ghost in The Shell, Ichi The Killer, Cemetery Man, or Oldboy. So I can't form an opinion.
Hey... where's The Spirit? Although, I think that would be close to the bottom of my list. It was visually interesting for a little bit, but after a while it just gave me a headache. And the story didn't really help things much. Frank Miller should just stick to comic books and not ever direct films again.
Believe it or not...

You are aware that "Critters" is a movie franchise, right?

Really? Where do they come up with this stuff?
But no, I haven't seen it. Being born in '87 doesn't allow a whole lot of room for me to watch all the 80's flicks and still keep up with the current. I should probably just spend a day and watch a ton of sci-fi 80's movies.

All in all, I have to say that my two very favorite comic book films are "Iron Man" and "Oldboy." "Iron Man" immediately gets props from me because I wouldn't even be reading comics if not for that character and I don't think that they could have made a better introduction movie for him if they tried (okay, the ending fight was a titch superfluous, but it still worked). Meanwhile, I've raved about "Oldboy" at least two times before, so instead I'll just quote the reaction one of my friends had upon seeing it: "I have no @%!*ing idea what I just watched, but is it okay if I say I liked it?" Good ol' fashioned, ultra-violent, off-the-wall Korean film noir and I have yet to find a movie that made better use of Vivaldi's "Winter."

I also loved The Dark Knight, partially because it reminded me of the Batman animated series which I used to love.
I thought V for Vendetta was a poor adaptation but a neat movie.
Watchmen! Some of the acting is kinda blah, but it's waaaaay closer to the graphic novel than I expected (Even though they kinda changed the ending). Lots of nerdy details. And I liked how they potrayed Rorschach on the big screen, even though he sounded a little too much like Batman for me.
X2 is also pretty cool. Probably better than this upcoming Wolverine movie.
