@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Yes, you read that topic correctly, and no I'm not kidding. I recently read pg. 46 of the lastest Game Infromer Mag. that Yuji Naka wants Sonic to die. He stated that after he left Sega to create his own studio he secretly and directly met with the Sonic Team staff, and told them to kill off Sonic, he wanted the team to start creating 'bad' Sonic games, he even laughed at the Sonic and the Secret Rings game, saying that the game is "Barely even playable." He's also pleaing with the fans to "Stop buying the games, and let Sonic die with dignity." He thought that his mission was accomplished, but he didn't take into account that there are a lot of fans of Sonic, and that they're ruining his plans of killing Sonic. He even said that the games might get worse, to where we may see Sonic turning into a 'dragon' or even a 'genie' with a 'magic butt'. The way I see it, if he doesn't want to have Sonic around anymore, maybe he should hand Sonic's rights to a different company.

Don't feel bad, I've fallen for the same crap these game magazines put out on April Fool's day.

It's usually a little subtle like this, but I must admit that was a fairly good subject for an April Fool's day joke. It kind of gives itself away though once you realize it's a joke. I mean, for all we know Yuji Naka really does feel that way, but it's not like Sonic Team would follow his advice to make crap if he's not involved any more.

Thank god it's joke, the title nearly gave me a heart attack.

BTW I even fell for one of EGM's April Fools jokes before as well, namely that beating 100 enemies in endless melee in Super Smash Bros. Melee would unlock Sonic.

Yeah, that's the one that got me good. I remember being very irritated at how hard it was, in a way I was glad to learn it a joke.

I vaguely remember that joke. I dont remember the details though, just that Sonic was supposedly an unlockable character. Now if it was Tails it might have been worthwhile

In some versions of the hoax, Tails was also an unlockable char.

Game Informer why do you have so little dignity? Kicking people why they are down, thats a little low. I mean I get it, the games were not so great, but that article perhaps took things a bit farther than necessary.

Yuji Naka's not the ONLY one who created Sonic, there's also Naoto Oshima and someone else.

Most likely a joke.

Yuji Naka himself said in the GameTap Sonic Retrospective videos that he wants Sonic to "keep running for another 50 or 100 years". Don't believe me? Watch the videos on Youtube.
Don't you ever mess with the hedgehog.

... the former head of sonic team. For those who might not of seen it around and sorry if its already been posted.

The Sonic franchisee must die, no matter the cost

I admit being a little saddened when I left Sega to form my own studio, but not because I was abandoning the company and co-workers who had supported me for years. I was dismayed that I did not fulfill my ultimate goal; to kill Sonic the Hedgehog.

I had made significant progress; abysmal titles like Sonic Shuffle and Shadow the Hedgehog went a long way to erode confidence and test the limits of gamers' patience. However, the job was far from done. Before I left Sega, I secretly met with Sonic Team to deliver one final directive: The Sonic franchise must die, no matter the cost.

They embraced their mission with alarming enthusiasm. The team devised terrible and incongruous concepts, then cobbled them haphazardly into a loose approximations of games. They expanded the cast of Sonic's repulsive anthropomorphic friends, included hedgehog-on-human romance, and even threw him on a hover-board -- twice!! I WAS OVERJOYED!! "This is barely even playable," I laughed as I played Sonic and the Secret Rings. "Mission accomplished."

I hadn't counted on you, the gamers, ruining my plans. No matter how hard Sonic Team tries to create a game not even a diehard fan could love, you stupid goons keep buying this garbage. Seriously, they turned Sonic into a "werehog" whatever the hell that is. Think about that for a second; what part of "werehog" sounds even remotely not stupid? That doesn't matter to you, apparently. As long as it has Sonic (or one of his insipid friends), you'll eat it right up and ask for seconds.

This is my plea: Stop. I beg you, LET SONIC DIE WITH SOME DIGNITY. Don't make the team suffer the humiliation of creating yet another game where Sonic transforms into some kind of genie or dragon... or something with a magic butt. Because there's where things are going, and it that doesn't stop you, heaven help us all.

Don't feel bad. I always fall for the google jokes. Once, they talked about a magic drink that could make you think faster and learn MUCH faster. I even posted the link here, a few MB's ago. Or the time I fell for the Google Paper, an option of having your archived e-mails printed and shipped to you. Oh, and that time Nique let Crock take over the forum for the day and I thought he REALLY did it and started to post the forum rules all over the place. If you think that your easy to full, don't mess with me. I fall for everything.
