Yeah this happened over a month ago, but I just found out.
I was a fan of Blink back in the 90s when it was either them, limp bizkit or the axes of evil of boybands and teenyboppers. They had a really fun air about them that still reminds me of more carefree days. When they came out with their last album it was arguably one of their best (definitely in the top 3) with a more mature sound and lyrical approach. They left on a high note with people begging for more, if not the top of their carriers, close to it. (Of course that great farewell album was later swallowed in everyone's memory by Green Day's unexpected comeback phenomenon with American Idiot later that year) I was always glad that the band ended and didn't become a boxca racer or god help us angels and airwaves, but it seems the new album, complete with a web 2.0 version of their 2004 smiley logo, will be a "fusion" of thoughs and Blink somehow, ugh. I suppose considering none of the members has been incredibly successful with there solo projects this shouldn't be all that surprising, still I hate to see them dig up what was to my mind better left alone.
