@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

A mind blowing and faithful adaptation of Alan Moore's brilliant classic graphic novel from DC is a very adult comic book movie. The film and graphic novel is a complex Sci-fi fantasy action movie set in an alternate dimension where it's 1985, Nixon is still president instead of Regan, and a group of retired superheroes reunite after one of their members has been despatched and must solve some clues including trying to stop World War III from happening.

It's visually stunning, intelligent, gory and sometimes sleazy but with brains comic book movie that is definitely not for children, it's one of the best comic adaptations in recent memory.

A must see experience!

I agree but I wouldn't put this as a must-see. And this is definitely not a movie for little kids or the weak-hearted.
The problem is the story is as inconsistent as the stock market, it just has some pointless things in it I think.

Saw this last night.

Visually arresting, but completely unable to build its own context. If you haven't read the original graphic novel, good luck giving a rat's ass about the majority of these characters; if you have, get ready for some massively annoying tweaks.

Acting was generally weak, but there were some stand-outs, most notably Rorschach.

On the whole, an interesting experience, but not a terribly compelling one.

Yeah Rorschach basicly stole the movie, I have a new hero.

While it was weak in some parts, it was an interesting look at what America and the world would of looked like if superheros existed.

I was going to see this movie this Saturday but it will have to wait. It seems to be generally getting mixed reviews. Plot too long, plot making little sense without reading the novel etc. At least many things go boom.

Actually, I thought that all of the actors were good and did justice to the characters (though, Silk Spectre doesn't have nearly as many issues as she does in the book and doesn't once touch a cigarette). Overall, the casting, the musical choices, and the opening montage were probably the three things that I liked best about the film. The plot for "Watchmen" is hard to swallow (epsecially in just a three-hour sitting) as there are just so many details to catch and character psychologies to understand, but I think it's still viewable for people who have not read the book (I saw it with my dad, brother, and six friends and only three of us have read the book, but everyone enjoyed it a lot anyway with lots of exposition).

I agree with Billy Crudup, though, that this really wasn't a film meant to be seen by anyone. They really spent the sex scene nickel one too many times and the scene in Archie just wouldn't end. That, and I think they needlessly overdid the violence in a few parts, especially considering that Rorschach is supposed to be the psycho, but Nite Owl and Silk Spectre have some of the grisliest scenes in the whole flippin' movie.

All in all, I actually really enjoyed the film and thought that it was best interpretation they could do. Other folks going to see it (whether they've read the book or not) should know exactly what they're getting into beforehand, though. Anyone expecting a "superhero" film IS going to be sorely disappointed and probably disgusted and anyone expecting a completely faithful adaptation of the comic should probably spend their ticket money on the new DVD at Wal-Mart.

Well it sure as hell isn't a family movie, it's a comic book movie for adults and i thought the performances were excellent and had a good philosphy for i had watched it again.

It could be the next "Matrix" and ranks up there with one of the great comic book based movies like "The Dark Knight", "Superman 1 & 2", "Spider-Man 2", "Iron Man", "X-Men 2", "300", "Sin City", "Road to Perdition", "Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky", "Ichi The Killer" and so much more.

Waaaait wait wait, "Superman 1 & 2"?
Ok, not everybody has the same idea of a masterpiece, "Iron Man" um, alright moving on...

"Riki-Oh"? o.o "The warden of any prison, has to be the very best at Kung-Fu." Riki-Oh?
Head exploding, tenden-tying, intestine-strangling Riki-Oh? ....

In other words, it's another movie I wouldn't pay to watch... Though, I haven't heard of those last 2... They sound too japanesy for my tates...
