Nice work with the sprites there. I talk when I'm bored in class, or I just leave.

Thanks! And, yes, http://www.themysticalforestzone.com/ is what I meant. That's what I get for not copy+pasting urls.

It is... exactly as the title suggests. I wanted to see what live video would look like if it moved like the terrible low budget children's anime 4kids likes to air. Don't get me wrong, I love anime! Just not the stuff on 4kids (Sonic X, Yu-Gi-Oh, Dinosaur King, ect.) So I wrote a little story and acted all the parts in it (acting is something I'd never want to do for film again), and well, there it is.

Haha! You'd go through a whole lot of trouble just to realize that it's way too pixelated to get the full impact of the expressions, actions, and designs you made!
The following are a couple of the few drawings that I still have on my computer. Seeing as how I'm currently without a scanner, I don't expect to be posting much drawing in the future.
These are drawings of some dragons that I've designed some time ago for another film/animation project I was apart of.

Nothing's easy anymore when it comes to sprite movies. LOL

Lil' miss popular has returned. Figured I would put all of my posted work on one thread just for the sake of simplicity. So Sally agreed to visit this thread as well.

"What?!?! Not Sonic?" Don't worry, the rest of the thread will be mainly Sonic related, or feature my more original works. Who knows, I might even get one of these girls to turn around for once.
Anyway, this is one of my favorite characters from one of my favorite animes: Neon Genesis Evangelion. Ultra fine Sharpie for the outlines, Rose Art color pencils for the coloration and background. I think using color pencils to draw the outlines for the background gives the drawing a sense of depth, as does the use of shadows.
Some Sonic related graphite drawings to come in the near future!

I am not one for a critique of the work, as both are rather distant from my own areas of development, but it stands to reason that in what you do have, there is a certain air of completion, however singular any one work is. Perhaps you could attempt artwork with multiple interacting figures, and observe what happens or develops in the process?
I look forward to more, FreakyFilmFan. Thank you for what you've chosen to show (I understand, myself, that posting is not always an easy factor.)

The next few things I'm going to be posting throughout the week are a couple years old, since going to film school drove me into a hiatus of sorts from drawing for the past couple of years. Now that I'm out and working in the field of video editing, I have found time to continue drawing once again over the weekends.
The newer stuff I'm drawing now are part of a hand-drawn animated short film I'm currently in the process of developing. Whereas the script I wrote for the film inspired many great visual interactions between characters, all of the elements of the animation are drawn separately. Sometimes even down to the individual limbs. Maybe I can draw a scene from it just to give you guys an idea as to some of the concepts forming around the film. But until then I'll be posting some of the stuff I did a couple years back.

Who knew I actually draw Sonic? I know he doesn't look SatAM style, and that Silver character in the background certainly isn't helping the whole SatAM thing. I did this a couple years ago when exploring the new shape they gave Sonic in that 2006 game for the XboX 360. I can see why they changed his shape. It is fun to draw from the neck up, although I do believe the limbs were too long and lanky for my taste.
Whereas there is a world of character interaction NOT dealt in this drawing, you do get some idea of Silver's suspicions of Sonic the Hedgehog as the "Iblis Trigger". Though I'm not quite sure what Sonic is doing in this picture, other that smiling and posing pretty. Like I said, this drawing is a couple years old. I don't remember my reasons for too much if I even had reasons at all.
Also:

I told you I might get one of these girls to turn around.
Something I did several years back. Lots of work went into the shape and position of the skater. To those who might know of her, the skater here bares a slight resemblance to Sasha Cohen, a world renowned figure skater who was known for performing multiple dizzying spins at high speeds, as depicted here in this drawing.

Two teenage girls talking. It seems as if they're talking at once, which could very well be, but what I'm trying to portray in this picture is a sense of close friendship between the two 14-year-old girls. Interestingly enough, showing them talking over each other seems to sell that portrait of friendship.
The reason why I chose to draw an interaction piece is because this is only one piece of an animated short film I've been working on. Soon, it will be colored and put in a shot with other characters. Within that context, these girls are in a junior high school heading to band practice. There will be a boy around the same age at the opposite side of the screen behind the girls watching them from a distance. The film will center around that boy, and tell the story of his life from the age of 3 - 21 years old. And it will be all told in 15 minutes!
The film will be told through the sounds of musical instruments. The main character plays piano, and therefore a piano will be heard on the film's musical score during his scenes. The girl with the violin will have a violin heard in the musical score during her scenes. And so on and so fourth.

First, your linework is very uniform, and the girls' figures have a sense of motion in their forward-leaning stride. You've done well in overlapping their depiction; they blend well together, and the conspirational/conversational, almost mischevious, pose of the one constrasts very well with the shy nature of the other. The instrument cases they carry enhance the sense of volume in the picture, largely due to the layering and intermingling sense of weight and personality, and the direct foreshortening and perspective of the box.
Their facial expressions easily carry what you meant to convey, and their close eyes easliy denote conversation. There is a little bit of optimistic curiosity over what they might be speaking of; looking at the image as a whole, it seems very promising.
Excellent work (it seems to fit your scope and purpose), FreakyFilmFan.

I was supervising kids at my local church (one of my many odd jobs) and I just started randomly drawing a little girl in my head. I realized that she seemed to be looking down at something. (I didn't think much of this drawing through, I had to break up fights over the Wii and stuff.)
Since I had been drawing this with a normal Bic pen, I couldn't really go back and change anything. So I asked the children what the character should be looking at. One girl suggested she be shopping, and another suggested she should be looking at her little brother doing something annoying.
Well, window shopping made sense with the little hat and dress I gave her. And the expression that I had already drawn did give her a shocked/surprised look. And annoying brothers would provoke that expression. So I drew both.
Everything, even the old woman in the window, was suggested by the kids. My only real input was the little girl. It was a good way to entertain the children and keep them away from Wii bickering.
Drawn in about 30 minutes total, allowing input from the kids. All drawn and shaded with a Bic pen.

Now, as for the sketch, it is clearly very basic, but it also illuminates that your sense of stylization is very clear, and your adaptability in considering areas of the image is good. You do not shy from making use of a simplified sense of depth, and your use of character expressions is nicely settled. An interesting point is that your charcter drawings tend to incorporate smooth outlines, while the objects and surroundings have a more feathered appearence.
It's a reasonable sketch, and quite amusing to you, I am sure, FreakyFilmFan. Thank you for posting it; more artwork is always good to see.
