Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

The First Episode of the Month this Year!

Is...

ULTRA SONIC!

"Sonic discovers his Uncle Chuck working with SWATbots on a mining expedition to remove a giant energy crystal to replace Robotnik's dwindling oil supplies, sending Sonic on an emotional roller-coaster ride as he battles both SWATbots, and to help his uncle regain his free will."

This is 'the one' we hear rumors about, the one where 'SEGA got upset because Sonic acted 'out of character' because he cried at the end'.

This is always a favorite of mine, because it had such an unsettling ending, and showed not everything in life always had a happy ending.

Yeah, I'd say this is a pretty important episode in the overall SatAM canon, and at least for me, in the Sonic franchise as a whole. Uncle Chuck, after all, is just about the only plot element that made the jump to Season 2 completely intact, rather than being altered radically or forgotten completely. Likewise, Sonic gets to show us his rarely-seen but very real vulnerable side, strengthening his character all the more. Top it all off with that bad-ass T-Rex robot the guys get to pilot, and you've got a real winner here.

This is my favorite season 1 emotional episode. It showed that Sonic cares about his Uncle Chuck very much and love him. I feel bad for him when he had to leave Uncle Chuck behind...again. I had never seen Sonic cry until this episode aired on tv. It really touches my heart and wanted to hug him xD

This is another one of my favorite episodes from season one. I don't care if Sega didn't like the fact that Sonic cried at the end,it shows to me that Sega doesn't know how Sonic's characterization should be handled. I think it is ok for Sonic to cry every once in awhile. It shows that Sonic has a heart, and it made Sonic sympathic in this episode. Also, I liked the relationship between Sonic and his Uncle Chuck, and how the episode showed how Sonic and his uncle Chuck cared about each other.

I remenber this was one of the fewest episodes I actually remenber seeing on TV. As a kid I only remenbered the parts where Sonic finds his Uncle among the worker bots, got his will free with the power ring, and the last scene where his free will was locked away once more. I probably didn't pay much attention to the episode as a kid. Course as a kid I turn my nose away from cartoons that had a serious tone to it.

Anyways I totally agree that it's fine for Sonic to show off emotion in this episode. I mean what kind of hedgehog would he be if he doesn't care about the only exsisting relative he knows. Sega disapproving Sonic showing symphathy is the same on how 4Kids disapproved showing the characters on One Piece any emotion.

Besides that, the cool thing about this episode is it's the earliest appearance of Uncle Chuck. Who get a bigger role in Season 2.
My motto "Watch as much anime as possible" that way you can impress other anime fans.

I love this episode. The music, plots, everything. Also you guys are right; what would Sonic be if he didn't show emotion?

Also curious question: where is the proof that Sega disapproved Sonic crying in the end? Or it was just a rumor?

I'm not entirely sure how that rumor got started, but to this day I can't recall ever seeing one iota of actual evidence beyond the fact that this episode supposedly marks the only time we see Sonic cry.

Anything that helps us relate to the characters is always better. Being perfect all the time would make it hard to draw any type of relation. The fact that he cries in this episode just lets us know he is... human (in the sense that he has other emotions). If they chose not to have him display those types of emotions, he would still just be an infallible hero, which is nice to look up to but hard to relate to.

I'll echo much of the sentiment already posted about Ultra Sonic.

Was it me or did Sally's group really do anything? I should rewatch to see what turning off the pully accomplished.

The idea was probly to lower the crystal back to the ground. Just turning them off wouldn't do much but give the T-Bot a better shot at the crystal.

Projection: If Intruder Organsim reaches civilized areas...

Entire world population infected 2,7000 hours from first contact.

If it weren't for the T-Bot I don't think Sally would have done it in time but they had to try.

I am not about how the rumor got started either. Even though there is no solid evidence, I lean towards beleiving it because of things about have heard/read about Sega's control of the comic; like that Sega is picky about Sonic acting a certain way(what they see as in character), or Sonic not crying during "Endgame.(though I am not sure if this was Sega as much as Ken Penders)."

i've never heard that rumor before. I don't really believe it considering Sonic cried in the first episode of Underground, and it was made by the same company who produced SatAM.

I don't watch this episode very much, but it's still one of the best quality episodes to come out of season 1. when uncle chuck cringes before the freedom fighters split up into two groups, the audience knows ahead of time that he's going to become a slave again, and you ask yourself "at what moment." It had me worried the first time I saw the episode, thinking he was going to turn back into a slave bot at a crucial moment. turns out he turns back after the plan succeeds. Oh well, great episode.

i don't have much to say about this one other than what has already been stated. It's great to see an old cartoon that has a serious point in the ending where the good guys don't come out on top. The mood of this series is the reason i'm still a fan (other than the fact that it's got Sonic, and he's taken seriously by the creators.)

"Ultra Sonic" is one of my favorite SatAM episodes. It was very emotional (in a good way), had those cool scenes were Chuck, Sonic, and Bunnie hijack the T-Bot to destroy the giant crystal, and it had that unintentionally hilarious scene were Rotor tries to shut down the controls robot but gets attacked by it. The robot had a set of laser blasters that popped out of its "crotch," which I thought looked really wrong . Sally ends up getting some new vital information about the roboticization process and Rotor says something along the lines of "Someday this will bring back all of our families" concerning that information. I find this really interesting because it would be a harbinger to the episode "Sonic Conversion."

"Ultra Sonic" has it all; emotion, action, and comedy!!

I loved this episode so much! It goes to show that changing someone's characteristics for one episode can truly be amazing. Sonic really cared for his uncle and he really wanted to show it when he left him. Also the T-rex machine scene was also the best moment I've ever seen in a sonic show!

Yay for feeling sorry for Sonic!

I personally thought this episode was sad because he couldn't bring his Uncle Chuck back with him to knothole and that he was determined to do it.
