@  furrykef : (25 July 2015 - 03:35 AM)

When was that? Depending on when it was, it might have been a DNS issue. Those should be gone now.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

on*

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

Just curious, Miko, what was your Bumbleking name, and when did you find you couldn't access the forum?

I tried ages ago. But suddenly NOW he wants to let me in. And don't worry, if I decide to say anything you'll know immediately who I am.

Your sister, Shorty, who shares your IP address, was temp banned, for reasons that we really shouldn't go into for the sake of this topic, during that month, and that would be a very likely reason for why you had trouble.

Looks like that wasn't the case, but I wanted to make sure.

Well, if Ian really wanted to take crits, he should come over and read this section. Otherwise he can blow me, end of story.

That is why I ain't bothering, I am not gonna waste my time repeating what was said in this entire forum section, especially when there is no real guarantee he will actually listen.

Even if that were true, it doesn't explain how she still wouldn't be able to get in after the the ban was lifted.

The entire venture has been rather amusing. I have tested the waters, and my initial analysis of the situation has proven correct; we're dealing with a stark dissimilarity in mindset here. While we desire a more dramatic representation of our favorite hedgehog, they choose to interpret the character as a vessel for whimsical adventure. As long as this divergence exists, there is no point in presenting our opinions. They see us as silly and misguided, just as we share the same sentiments for them. No amount of arguing can convince these people that Ian has erred.

Challenging my Star Wars knowledge was also a mistake.

You know,

I've never been much of a contributor to the online world of the Sonic fandom at all, I mainly just kept to myself instead of joining these forums. Come to think of it, I always thought I would find myself ignored amongst what I had imagined the world of the mainstream Sonic fans to be - a frightening, self-loathing mob of fanboyism. I see now that these prejudicial perceptions were all in my imagination since I joined here, putting to rest a fear in my head I had since I was a kid when I encountered that sort of thing pertaining to superiority on the playgrounds (mainly because I was a girl, but still), but I would like to know...

If I were to join Bumbleking, would I encounter this kind of crowd?

Sorry to shift the subject, if I did so.

To be honest self loathing in terms of the games is pretty warranted. They're not doing to well as far as sales figures and popularity. As far as Ian's board, I think that some of them can be a tad delusional, thinking that just because something is incorporated from the games equals instant popularity when the games aren't selling well, and weren't meant for good storytelling but gameplay. As far as a broader audience is concerned in terms of the public at large, I think its this delusion thats killing the book's potential popularity because the general public isn't feeling Sonic's games right now, and instead of the book relying on its own merits to tell a decent story and get its own popularity, its relying on a dying game franchise with an unstable fanbase, whose numbers are constantly declining as the figures indicate thorugh each main title game.

And on the subject of popularity, I think Archie needs to give Sonic his OWN identity and stop borrowing off of the concepts of other popular comic/T.V titles like X-men, and Justice League unlimited, with the endless cramming of too many top teir characters with (for the most part) all these super powered abilities. Most of these characters have filler contributions to Sonic as a person at best, and are only good for freedom fighting. Its stuff like this that makes me think the book has no heart anymore. Because its not about "Sonic", its about franchise. And thats not bad up until the point you make it PAINFULLY obvious the the veiwers.

Or you can stay here and enjoy the delightful company of a bunch of miserable people who would rather spend their days being miserable...people. WHAT FUN THERE IS TO BE HAD.

This is why I got out of the Sonic fandom. It's about as fun as bashing my face against a rock that someone's had shoved down their pants and urinated on. At least other fandoms like Transformers, Mario and Earthworm Jim don't spend their days eating each other's balls.

I think most fandom's are stupid... Sonic is horrible cause of your different shows and different age groups..

The only reason why I liked er.. Like SatAM is because of the darkness about it, and other characters.. I hate Sonic.. One of the worst characters created...

But ok point of my post is that fandom's in general end up stupid and once they branch out like Sonic's did you get a "Dog eat Dog" scenario.

Those are surprising words from somebody who shamelessly trolled and spammed this forum last time he was here. Oh wait... no they aren't.

Funny how criticism from a handful of people within a single subforum is enough to paint the entire board community with this kind of vitriol.

I've been in the Sonic fandom for a long time and I've come across a couple of jerkwads, but for the most part, I don't encounter all this horrific fanboy/girlism that people talk about. I think some of that comes from people deliberately stirring up trouble. Like a hardcore Sally fan deliberately seeking out 'kill Sally' pictures on Deviantart and getting in arguments with the artists or shit like that. Why even bother? Someone doesn't like a fictional character... big freaking deal. It dosen't mean you can't like them. Hell I love one of the unpopular characters on the show, and I got used to seeing my Snivvy-poo die in 99.9% of fanfics he's in It doesn't bother me!
People also like to stir up trouble within the different Sonic fandoms, like Segakiddies hating on SatAM and vice versa, and so on... Whatever. Let them fight over their petty crap. xD
Since I stay away from that drama, I don't get caught in the shitstorm. I stick with the pleasant, creative side of the fandom, with people who just like the show like me, and like to appreciate it.

And yeah, a lot of fandoms have their over the top drama and petty asshats. Especially if they're big fandoms, naturally.

The fact alone that he is here shows that he is unable to get over whatever had gotten him disgruntled about this community. Oh wait, I remember. We didn't lick his balls thoroughly enough when he posted about auditioning for Archie with his mediocre doodles.

Haha! What a laugh and a half!

PS : He holds Toby Barrett/HeyoWakka in high regard, and that is quite telling.

For those of you who don't know or remember, this sums him up quite nicely :
