@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

True, I guess I could do that. But I do like to talk about it some what. The old ones at least.

You just need to be selective about when and where you post. How often do you see me post in SatAM-related threads? I haven't even watched the 2nd Season, I can't have a very informed opinion can I? So i just don't post there, but for different reasons to why you wouldn't post in some Archie thread.

I think the big question that's not been asked so far is *how large an increase do we want* this may be a relatively inactive board but I think there is a real sense of community, rather than a 1000 strangers just posting random crap every few seconds. And I don't think anyone here wants FUS to become such a monstrous behemoth like say the Sonic HQ boards do we? But still, having more members wouldn't be a bad thing, as long as we stick to the spirit and form we always have (i.e. "adjusting the rules" for a larger board wouldn't suddenly mean that 1337 and Spam and off-topic posts were ok everywhere) we can still be FUS.

Why not, they're still on youtube aren't they?

Youtube is where I watched Season 1. I got to Game Guy and Dulcy pissed me off enough to stop watching them. I haven't got around to it again yet.

Plus I think everyone who reads the comic knows of the show.

I hang out on Deviantart alot, and one thing I noticed among fanart of Sally or whatnot is how the artists talks only of their comic incarnation. A lot of the comments on the picture reflect that too. They may have 'heard' of SatAM but they haven't actually watched it. They judge the characters (esp Sally) based on Archie. Maybe having them come to the board will teach them about the original source material of SatAM.
Then again, some of them are really childish (I guess, cuz they're children? lol) and I don't know if I want the board overrun with flamerific Archie fans O>O I guess they'd get booted pretty quick though. xD

Rayzor mentioned a lack of fan-things, and I agree. I remember in the old days people would post their fanart and they would get lots of replies. The contest forum was never jumping, but it used to be active once upon a time. Nowdays... I remember seeing the fantastic artist Cionex posting some of his fanart and he barely got any replies. I don't think it went beyond 2 pages, whereas in the old days there would've been alot of encourgement, replies and so on. For a while now, I've felt like people here no longer care about the fanworks of SatAM; there is no creative enthusiasm at all. It's one reason i've been debating leaving this board (another is that all my friends from the old days aren't here, or barely post anymore) I would definetly like to see more creative encourgement happening as Razyor suggested.

While I make no secret about my dislike of the comics, this isn't really a bad idea. One of the reasons I don't visit this forum much is due to the lack of activity. Of course, the downside to this is I'd have no idea what the Archie comic fans would be talking about. Oh well, more activity and members means the possibility of making new e-friends! That's always nice!

Advertise. How... I'm not to sure yet. But maybe ask members here to add a link to FUS or a small banner inside of their sigs on other boards.

Or you could do some crazy stunt while wearing something advertising the change to FUS. Now how can we get the media's attention...

How about something that has to do with facebook? I would not mind adding a few links on FB. And those Fan Pages...I am SURE we can do something with that.

Hmm... Well... As I'm one of the folks without access to the comics, I really don't have any opinion on them anyway... That said, it's always nice to have more people to talk with, as long as it doesn't get to the point where there're too many people trying to talk at once... As I've seen happen elsewhere, new people will likely flood in and those who aren't serious about being members of the community will leave when the novelty wears off. Seems like a winning idea to me...

If you want publicity, there's always the evil of Wikipedia...

Considering FUS has always had a mix of Archie Sonic discussions, reviews, flame wars and the odd fan fiction/art, I can't see how this new move is gonna change very much other than making it official on the main page 'we have Archie here too'. But, hey, it's better than doing nothing at all.

As an Archie fan myself (though I like SatAM as much if not more), I always thought the site was pretty accommodating to us. From what I see, there's quite a bit of talk in the General section on Archie. But I really don't see any harm in sticking something on the home page that acknowledges Archie comics.
