@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Wickedly cool adult animated Sci-fi/horror/fantasy anthology with John Candy and Harold Ramis, has a badass soundtrack, cool villains, gore, and hot naked toon chicks complete with Hairpie such as Taarna.

This movie influenced "The Fifth Element".

Eh..it was ok.It would have been nice if the stories werent so shallow and were longer than 10 minutes.

The sequel felt like a half assed sci fi movie that was written for a comic.

I only saw about half of it, but I thought it was pretty sweet.

Heavy Metal 2000 was another waste of time and I only watched half of it at a friends house. 2 of the worst movies to date.

I guess I must an idiot or sommin' because I LOVE "Heavy Metal." I suppose it might just be nostalgia from the combination of the late 70's animation, the BOC and Cheap Trick-laden soundtrack, and the badly-written, but well-adapted fantasy stories. The whole thing is like a smorgasbord of rock and nonsense and for some reason I love every minute of it.

I never bothered with "Heavy Metal 2000," though. I could tell from the previews alone that all of the crazy crap that made the first one work for me was gone and after catching five minutes one time, I've never felt bothered to watch the rest.

I remember catching a small bit of Heavy Metal on HBO or some other such channel a few years ago. Both my mother and stepfather were like, "Wow! I haven't seen this in ages!" And all I remember from it was nekkid boobs. That was pretty unusual for a cartoon at the time.

Unfortunately, my only other exposure to Heavy Metal has been through the art of Boris Vallejo, who did covers for the magazine. His art's pretty awesome, though.

Heavy Metal was okay, I'd explain in detail but Shadow summed it up well for me. As for an adult animated movie from the early 80's that's better, I'll go for Fire and Ice.

Hahaha Fire and Ice, yeah.... I'd say don't see that one unless you want a good laugh from my experience except it's just plain creepy in a lot of ways which would probably nullify much of the humor for many.

Heavy Metal was bad, had some interesting bits but eh, not really enough to keep it afloat. It's all the shallowness of a pulp with usually less than half the charm. Still, it kinda freaked me out when some Christian kids in my high school smashed a VHS of it with a hammer. Book burning for Jesus amirite? Sad thing is those guys were some of the *most* open minded people in the school.

Ah... hokay. Plot summary?

Evil green gem goes through history and the future making life really bad for some people... With lots of violence and gore and animated porn and drug content along the way.

There's also a South Park episode based on it. The one where they sniff cat musk and see the neked gal.

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, unless there wasn't anything better on non-pay TV late at night and there's no offendable people around... Or unless they're into animated porn...

Though... I wouldn't mind having a car that could survive atmospheric re-entery...

Anyone else thinks Taarna is quite good looking for a toon girl? she's that white haired warrior beauty, i had a thing for her since i was 11 when i taped this off Cinemax in 1993. In fact one of my friends who is 31 years old saw this movie in theaters when he was 4 when his 17 year old cousin took him to see it as it was first time seeing tits, hairy beavers, a wang and butts even if it was animation and Taarna was his first crush.

Did this movie influenced "The Fifth Element"? you can tell how similar they are. The film really isn't animated porn, if you want animated porn see "Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend", NOW that's real animated porn all the way. Well what about "Akira", "Starchaser: Legend of Orin", "Fire and Ice", "Rock and Rule", "Ghost in The Shell", "Ninja Scroll" etc.?

The film is basically "Creepshow" meets "Star Wars" and "The Fifth Element".

Yeah, it's porn... And it's animated... And it was perty groundbreaking for its time... But if yer 26, you should probly remember what the raitings were like even back in the early 90's...

And no, I didn't go for the white haired chick. Never was one for blonds... Wasn't the girl in the house a redhead? Or is that just my wishful thinking kicking in? I know the bimbo on the spaceship was...

Uh, huh. How did he remember if all if he was just 4 and saw it once o_0? The only parts I really remebered when I saw it when I was young where the zombie WW2 bits and Taxi (I barely even found the scene with John Candy memorable, though I certainleh recognized his voice).

I think you all missed the point of Heavy Metal, which is to get incredibly messed up on mary jane and then you watch the movie. This was how it was explained to me and I totally believe it. I only saw the last ten minutes of the movie or so, incredibly drunk, and it was so damn slow, just the slowest thing imaginable. Being totally high for it was the only explanation I could think of. Even being drunk gave it an odd fascination.
