@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Anyone ever play Chrono Trigger for the SNES? If so, what do you think about...

*Gameplay
*Plot
*Characters
*Genre

Or anything else you can think of.

Lessee...

*Gameplay- Loved it
*Plot- Loved it
*Characters- Loved 'em
*Genre- It's an RPG, I guess?

A friend lent me "Chrono Trigger" back in 6th grade and it became the first RPG I ever played AND beat (which was still something of an accomplishment for me at that point). I've always wanted to play an updated version with all the cutscenes, but have never really wanted to spend the money on it (just buying the SNES cartridge a few years after the fact cost an arm and a leg).

Fun Fact: for our free-for-all cosplay next year, my brother's girlfriend is planning to dress up as Lucca (I'd do Robo in a heartbeat if I could figure out how to make his plating out of foam and junk).
*UNDER CONSTRUCTION*

Check back for savings and low, low prices! Brand spankin' new Kain, coming Septober of 2011! Will wash your windows, buff your banisters, and brighten your floors to maximum gleam! Safe when used as directed.

I hear Chrono Trigger for DS is coming out VERY shortly. I can't wait. I rock at Chrono Trigger! Yeah, the SNES version costs between 50 and 80 dollars [depending on quality] last time I checked.

It would be fun to cosplay as Robo. I bet his costume would take forever to make though.

Not incredibly difficult but good enough to keep you interested. At the time it was the greatest thing but with all my experience it seems kinda small.

Ditto. When I played it again as an older person it was cake.

I never played the original on the SNES(since I never was into RPGs until I played Super Mario RPG:LOTSS and Final Fantasy VII) but I did playthrough the game once on the PS1 version. Gladly the DS version is out and all the extras like the music player and the anime cutscenes from the PS1 version on in this one but there is no long load times and pauses when a battle starts or when you access your menus.

This is one of the best RPGs I've ever played.

I agree. It is my favorite game aside from Okami.

Hey, I own the Japanese SNES cart. It's a pretty great game at its time, but it hasn't aged too well IMO.

Gameplay - Interesting, but offset by how stupidly easy it is to win battles.
Story - Pretty interesting, but does have a few plot holes.
Characters - Done quite well.
Genre - As far as cRPGs on the SNES go, I would definitely recommend the likes of FF4, FF6, Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3, Secret of Evermore, Langrisser 4, Star Ocean, Tales of Phantasia and Terranigma over this game. If only just barely.

I didn't care much of rits sequel on the sony playstation. However the notion of kids playing around with time travel without anyone knowing was quite exciting to me when playing it.

Man, I loved the old Chrono Trigger for the SNES.
Compelling storyline, characters you can name (always a plus for me) and decent rpg-combat. Too bad I never beat the final boss . . . that bastard. Then again I didn't try 20 times over.

I beat Lavos, but it was a bitch because he has like 4 forms. With really strong attacks I might add. A couple attacks wipe your guys almost all the way out and you have to quick heal them.

Did you know there are like 10 alternate endings?

Lavos is not that hard to beat.

Perhaps I didn't spend enough time training my guys, I mean, I just found the game randomly, played through it once, and didn't look up any FAQs or strategy guides.

I see.

There are 7 quests at the end of the game that you can do before fighting Lavos. It's quite worth it to go on those quests.
