I mean...I guess I could continue to use it. The only thing wrong is the backlight croaked. I can't see shit on the screen unless I use a flashlight, which may be okay for some...but is fucking annoying for me! That's not the only problem it has really...the other problems it has doesn't affect the performance of the computer. But...then I only had this laptop for serious gaming purposes which I don't do on it anymore since I learned Neverwinter Nights hates NTFS.
Thus...this "nice" computer has served its purpose...now on to another computer. By the way, it's a Toshiba Satellite for anyone wondering.
I'll try to check FUS often while I'm out of commission.

1. Price. They run from about 15 hundred and up (for the laptops)
2. Firefox is not so easy to use. Mine keeps messing me up, so I use the standard browser which works great!
3. By the time you get the new computer, a new idea has been put in the works and your computer will seem out dated in about one year. But that does not mean yours won't work. Macs have a life of about 4 years or so.
But the best thing to do is look at what you want to do with your computer and then see who makes the best computer to do it. I like Mac because it allows me to be creative and draw, write, play music (Which sucks...but still) so think about it.

Now Ive used macs before, and even used brand new ones.. Still just don't like the set up, style, or the general feeling of a mac.
I'll admit Macs have better film editing software etc. When I was in high school I used a G4 in Film class. But for a all purpose computer Id rather have my PC.

Actually, it wasn't really a joke. I've run it with no heatsink on the CPU so yea, I use and abuse.

1. $1500 is the max I'd want to pay, not the min
2. You don't mean... Safari? *Pukes at the browser from hell*
3. Well that's just technology in general. Nothing is ever really cutting edge. Most computer tech is "obsolete" by the time it's actually released.

Vista is a great OS. OSX is ok, not a big fan of 10.0-10.4, but I'd like to try Leopard. Macs do have Garageband

As for the pice..some Macs can go for about 500. Its a square tower they sell so that users can make use of the monitors, mice and keyboards they already have. But, if I had to get another comp and I was NOT in school, I'd use the desktop Mac.

Really, the only thing I like about Macs is they have Terminal. Terminal is Command Prompt++. Everything else can be done on Windows, including games.

Surely there are many Command Prompt++es for Windows. They just don't come built in. (For example, you can use any classic Unix shell such as "bash" using Cygwin.)
