@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

I may be gone for a short while soon. I'm not sure yet. My computer is suffering some severe problems and needs help. Soo....if I go quiet soon, I probably disappeared to either get my laptop fixed or a new computer.

Cheers!

That sucks. Hope the comp gets better. If you do chose to start anew, might I suggest Mac?

So you fix a computer that is not broken until it brakes? Does this mean that you brake your computer by fixing it?

Okay, this just in folks. My computer completely went to shit last night. Good thing I burned my data off JUST before it happened.

I mean...I guess I could continue to use it. The only thing wrong is the backlight croaked. I can't see shit on the screen unless I use a flashlight, which may be okay for some...but is fucking annoying for me! That's not the only problem it has really...the other problems it has doesn't affect the performance of the computer. But...then I only had this laptop for serious gaming purposes which I don't do on it anymore since I learned Neverwinter Nights hates NTFS.

Thus...this "nice" computer has served its purpose...now on to another computer. By the way, it's a Toshiba Satellite for anyone wondering.

I'll try to check FUS often while I'm out of commission.

Why don't you like Chief? I use one and I love it! Does lotta neat stuff, and they keep getting better! The newest model they have has more then just two standard right-left click. It is up to 4 finger clicks! And you can adjust your screen size by just pinching in, or out your index and thumb finger. Must of the things we know and love from the iPhone are now used in this great little computer. The are some setbacks.
1. Price. They run from about 15 hundred and up (for the laptops)
2. Firefox is not so easy to use. Mine keeps messing me up, so I use the standard browser which works great!
3. By the time you get the new computer, a new idea has been put in the works and your computer will seem out dated in about one year. But that does not mean yours won't work. Macs have a life of about 4 years or so.

But the best thing to do is look at what you want to do with your computer and then see who makes the best computer to do it. I like Mac because it allows me to be creative and draw, write, play music (Which sucks...but still) so think about it.

Eh... Ive never been a fan of Macs. My sister is, she loves them, always have. I've always hated them. I like my PC's and I like windows.. And I like Vista which a lot of people don't.

Now Ive used macs before, and even used brand new ones.. Still just don't like the set up, style, or the general feeling of a mac.

I'll admit Macs have better film editing software etc. When I was in high school I used a G4 in Film class. But for a all purpose computer Id rather have my PC.

Actually, it wasn't really a joke. I've run it with no heatsink on the CPU so yea, I use and abuse.

1. $1500 is the max I'd want to pay, not the min
2. You don't mean... Safari? *Pukes at the browser from hell*
3. Well that's just technology in general. Nothing is ever really cutting edge. Most computer tech is "obsolete" by the time it's actually released.

Vista is a great OS. OSX is ok, not a big fan of 10.0-10.4, but I'd like to try Leopard. Macs do have Garageband

Yea, I use Safari and it works well. They do tabs just like firefox. But the thing I like most about it is the bookmarks bar. Most of the links I go to often are easy to get too, and, if you more then one like that pertains to a certain category, you make a folder that sits in the bar as well. The one drawback is that at times some link I click on are opened into a new widow instead of a tad, but that rarely happens.

As for the pice..some Macs can go for about 500. Its a square tower they sell so that users can make use of the monitors, mice and keyboards they already have. But, if I had to get another comp and I was NOT in school, I'd use the desktop Mac.

I've only used Safari on OSX 10.4 and older, and it was unstable, slow and downright crap. If they've improved it since then, they deserve a trophy. I would have put IE6 above Safari back then, and that's saying alot.

Really, the only thing I like about Macs is they have Terminal. Terminal is Command Prompt++. Everything else can be done on Windows, including games.

Surely there are many Command Prompt++es for Windows. They just don't come built in. (For example, you can use any classic Unix shell such as "bash" using Cygwin.)

I have only used terminal a little, but I did change one thing that was neat. Instead of saying Welcome to me using my real name at start-up, it now reads "Welcome SAA." But after I did, there was a warning message that said if I used this command improperly all hell can brake loose. So...now I only use it a little.

I hafta agree with Chief... Way back when I was in school, the schools all used macs. And they were real POSes. During our senior year, they got in a shipment of G4s and the first one we set up crashed the first time it was turned on. So, I have a distrust of them based on past experience from 5th (never seen an actual computer before that) through 12th grade.

Projection: If Intruder Organsim reaches civilized areas...

Entire world population infected 2,7000 hours from first contact.
