@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Did the satAM writers ever have plans for the Chaos Emeralds

While I would have been all for the inclusion of Chaos Emeralds, I'd rather not have Super Sonic. I never liked DBZ, and I consider Super Sonic an overpowered reminder of a typical over the top anime. Not to mention an invincible golden blur would kill all of the tension of the series, as a previous poster already stated.

I think it would be neat if the emeralds were incorporated, but not the super sonic part...yeah.

Would be neat to see a supporting character use one and be the hero on a mission for once.

Do they need the Chaos Emeralds? There's a million better props that aren't overused like those things.

Anytime magic elements are used in a Sonic franchise, it ends up being too similar to Chaos Emeralds. I thought the Deep Power Stones were very similar to Chaos Emeralds, except there were only two (which is much better, pacing-wise, opposed to a whole seven) and they didn't turn Sonic yellow. But what the Stones did in the plot was the same as what the Emeralds would have done.

I would like it if the magic elements (if used at all) in Sonic should have a toll on Sonic's health, as was suggested before. That would probably be one of the few way to make it less "Chaos Emerald-esque". (Woaw! I just made up a word!)

I can answer this... no they did not.

In case you miss the first page. Ben told us it was the the 'ongoing' struggle. I'm sure props will come along to help. The controversial King's list is very important.

When time travel is mentioned at least once in the series any number of events can be easily put to the question. But I think it was a lack of oversight by the writers to get the events down chronologically because of time issues/budget/etc.,.

I think introducing the Chaos Emeralds to SatAM would be epic. It would kind of mend this broken fandom we have here as Sonic fans.

Never lose hope! SATam will be resurrected!

The topic asks if the writers had plans for them not the fans.

There's many things that could be added to work besides props. They do come in handy though.

Like previous discussions it's really about the action between the characters and enviornment that makes the story. I'm glad this show didn't use too many props that were overpowered.

Even the use of a power ring each episode might be annoying but we know it wasn't really the ring that won it. One of many items used in numerous situations.

I think the writers had chaos emeralds planned to be introduced into the story soon after doomsday. The dp stones seem to be the first concept of the chaos emeralds and I have little doubt that they, the writers, wereplanning to write the chaos emeralds in...Maybe soon before or after they introduced knuckles. (Im sure he crossed their minds)

I think it would look cool, but it would have to be done tastefully. Otherwise you ruin the mechanics of the series.

It's not the fans fault anything is broken. I personally don't think there's anything too bad with some of the games. Except for the name of 'Zone' making it feel impersonal. Why not call it only Angel Island?

SatAM happened to be good and better thought out imo. Is the term 'more traditional/normal' right?

I'm not saying it can't be done, and done well; I'm just saying it'll take a lot more than THAT to bring the many niches of the Sonic fandom together.

Since when were they ever apart? We're all fans of the same show for different/similiar reasons. I don't think it matters that much. Having more versions of Sonic is a strength because it attracts more fans to his overall character.

I would buy more Sonic product if I didn't have more mario or coke to buy.

I think that they would have been introduced at some point, alongside Knuckles.

Perhaps there wouldn't be seven of them, just one (like in Sonic Underground).

As for Super Sonic... Well it would have been pretty cool, but I doubt there would have been a transformation.

If they were going to use them, it would be the lead up to the grand finalle since it would turn the plot into a "gotta find em all" type senario. Not that I have a problem with it since it's done in Sonic fanfiction all the time but many Satam fans would not approve of it.

I would rather that the chaos emeralds would have been a much larger part of the plot rather than magic (Naugus and the time stones). I don't think that magic really fits well in the SatAM universe but the chaos emeralds would be a great addition.
