King of the Hill cancelled...

To be fair, I haven't watched much of the later seasons, though -- not 'cause I don't like the show but because I can't be bothered to watch TV much at all -- so maybe the show got worse over the last couple of seasons, I dunno. And don't get me wrong, the show does have its low moments (one chicken fight was enough; it's also annoying when the phrase "Like that time when..." appears within the first five seconds of an episode), but I still think on the whole it's pretty good.
I never could stand King of the Hill either, really. I wasn't gonna post in this thread for that reason, but since everybody's hatin' on Family Guy, I felt I had to.

I mean....that's so sad.
Goddamn I hated that fucking show.
Funny I watched my first every episode about 2 days ago and I thought it was crap I found it boring and not very funny. A show that I will be sad to see go is South park even though they have some offensive episodes Like the snuke (offensive to British) its just so good it one of them cartoons that take the piss out of every thing no one cares that its dose.

Now the question of what will replace it arises...

And here we have exhibit A: When people watch alot of brain rotting trash, this is pretty much the result.
Who else wants to watch a TV show, in which half of the episode is basically the constant use of a song that becomes annoying, while the rest was just a mass amount of failed humor?
I'm serious, its as if the writers are just pulling their work from the trash bin.
No. Please, just no.

On a commentary in one of the early seasons of The Simpsons Matt Groening and the writers mentioned a "rejected joke box" (or something along those lines) and they ribbed each other saying (quoted from memory) "We have a rejected joke box?" "Not anymore!" "Family Guy stole it! *laughter*" someone who has the DVDs handy and remembers this could probably get the actual name they called it and quote it better but eh that's the gist x3

Oh yeah, well Futurama should have lasted 13 seasons,
AND STOP DISSING FAMILY GUY!

I wish they cancelled South Park instead of KotH (and Futurama)! SP sucks, they swear past the limit of the Censor's standards (overswearing), for example:
Cartman (aka Fatbutt): "Holy S**t, Snape killed Dunbledore AND Kenny!"
Kyle: "YOU B*****DS"
(I censored out the swears cause I HATE SO MUCH SWEARING!)
I once heard that a friend of a teacher bought a SP VHS when it was still new... and for her KIDS TOO!!!!! WHen she showed it to her kids, she was suprised to see her children exposed to words like "Don't call me fatass, you dildo", implying that not all cartoons are for kids and that videos and DVD's of adult (and semi-adult) cartoons should be marked with a sticker saying "ADULT CONTENT"
The episode about the word s**t uncensored, and "Bigger, Longer, and Uncut" made my head explode with "THE FURY OF MIDNA"!

What's so wrong with "bad" language that it upsets you that much? And your friend's kids being exposed to words like that from a VHS she bought them isn't SP's fault, it's her's for assuming that all cartoons are child friendly and not monitoring what she buys for them to watch if she cares so much.
South Park was funny, but it's been underhandedly conservative at least since the war in Iraq started (their pro-Iraq-war episode was the 200th episode special), maybe since Sept. 11th 2001, so I've lost a lot of respect for them.
Especially when they put on a strawman argument (like with the atheism episodes) I'm positive (just from their ability to so artfully avoid the real argument and instead attack the messengers) they must know fully well is/are strawmen, effectively and purposefully misinforming/lying to thousands if not millions of people.

I thought using strawman arguments was the point of the show.

Whoa, I didn't know you had a kid.
I agree with Chief, Masturge77. Your case against profanity while defending Family Guy is contradictory as FG is guilty of using profanity almost as much as South Park except SP, even today, is better than current Family Guy.
As a joke, Mike Judge should put Beavis, Butthead, and Tom Anderson in the last KOTH episode. Hank tells everyone that his cousin Tom is coming to visit but Beavis and Butthead follow Tom to Arlen and end up terrorizing both Hank and Tom.

I thought using strawman arguments was the point of the show.
To make fun of them maybe in the early seasons, but not to present them as valid arguments.

"ONOES PEOPLE ON THE INTERNETS DISAGREE WITH ME!!!!"
My spidey senses tell me that you're very young and very, very sheltered.
Words like fuck and shit and cunt are not somehow more offensive than the bloodbaths and Helen Keller jokes on Family Guy. And it's not that great a show in the first place. You're entitled to your own opinion about it—I still kind of like the earlier seasons myself—but going into CAPSLOCK RAGE over complete strangers who don't share your opinion isn't particularly mature.
Also, unless you're writing for a school or the public that demands you clean up any language, self-censoring your speech makes you look childish and passive-aggressive. We're all big boys and girls, and we sure as fuck have made it past that motherfuckin' stage in early childhood where we cover our ears and shriek like pussies at the mere sight of a shitty word. Noitch.
On a much lighter note, have some lovely KotH pilot!
