@  Wulfsbane : (07 April 2020 - 07:27 AM)

So I wrote one of the shorts in Paradox's new Sonic Seconds video

@  Shadow : (24 March 2020 - 06:31 PM)

I'm still waiting to see if my attempts to sign up for EI have gone through or not. Phone lines are impossible to get through.

@  furrykef : (23 March 2020 - 05:58 PM)

There's talk that they may have found a cure for the virus. Here's hoping.

@  A Fox in a D... : (22 March 2020 - 07:27 PM)

Yeah, our D&D sessions and just going out for drinks at local breweries is basically gone right now. We're thinking of doing remote sessions but it's still not the same.

@  Wulfsbane : (22 March 2020 - 03:28 PM)

It just sucks cause my friends and I can't do our usual weekend stuff cause most of the restaurants we go to are closed or takeout only

@  furrykef : (22 March 2020 - 11:20 AM)

I know exactly how you feel.

@  A Fox in a D... : (22 March 2020 - 10:41 AM)

Yeah, there's a part of me that, as an introvert, should be totally OK with the concept of staying home. But there's also a huge part of me that is incredibly unnerved by the concept of having the choice taken away. Before, it felt like something I wanted to do, but now it just feels lonely and sad.

@  A Fox in a D... : (22 March 2020 - 10:38 AM)

Ah, no worries. Thanks for clarifying. <3

@  Wulfsbane : (22 March 2020 - 05:31 AM)

I absolutely recognize that this is going to have a change in how we do things, for better or for worse. There's going to be some positive changes out of this and some negative changes as well. I get this is something we haven't seen in 100 years.

If I came off as insensitive, I should apologize and explained what I meant a bit more.

@  Wulfsbane : (22 March 2020 - 05:23 AM)

You misunderstand. My daily life consists of me going to work and going home. When I order food out I usually get take out anyways. See I work 2nd shift so my options of what I can/can't do is limited by time anyways and hasn't effected me as much, the only real thing being I can't sit down at the diner when I get out at 11pm-12am on a Friday night. So when I say I'm not changing much of my daily life it's because my routine is at a point where my interactions with people, in person, are limited to begin with

@  A Fox in a D... : (20 March 2020 - 11:01 AM)

Regardless of how you feel Covid affects you personally, there's an absolute change this puts on everyone globally, especially small businesses and at-risk people. It will influence how we look at the media landscape, how we deliver entertainment and services, and workplace practices going forward, some long term, some short, some good and some bad. These sort of pandemics don't come around with zero wake, and we've already seen that and are seeing it right now. If you don't think anything is different, then you aren't looking hard enough.

@  A Fox in a D... : (20 March 2020 - 10:09 AM)

No, Covid is it's already costing businesses and lives, and it's made life difficult for just about everyone I know, particularly in my industry where we've having to scramble to ship games from home. What you're doing is unwise and irresponsible, and you're not the only person in existence, so you can keep your "not really".

@  Wulfsbane : (19 March 2020 - 08:57 PM)

Not really. I'm still going about it as if nothing's different

@  GetCrazyWith... : (18 March 2020 - 06:48 PM)

Covid is going to screw up all our lives

@  RedAuthar : (17 March 2020 - 09:43 PM)

I know your pain Ben, I know your pain...

@  Shadow : (16 March 2020 - 08:13 PM)

Lucky you.

@  Wulfsbane : (16 March 2020 - 05:16 AM)

I still gotta work

@  A Fox in a D... : (16 March 2020 - 12:03 AM)

It's only boring if you make it so. I'm stuffing my quarantine with as much art as I can muster.

@  furrykef : (13 March 2020 - 07:16 AM)

Stupid COVID-19 got chess club canceled. I guess I should prepare myself for a particularly boring next few months.

First of all, don't go over there and bother these people, you'd only be wasting your time, I just want to point this out.

http://www.deviantar...T-SEE-462371198

Yeah, I also think that there are at least a few bits of conformation bias in there.

But personally, I find this to be downright creepy. Their whole rationale is "Sonic DOES love Amy, he's just fidgety, and can't stay in the same place too long."............................................................... Really? That's how these people believe relationships work?

You know, if you were to be in a shopping mall or grocery store, and were to fondle people at random, they would react the exact same way. And it's not that they're "impatient" or just "fidgety", "OMG GET THIS CREEP OFF ME!"

The scariest part of all is that what if these people in comments section squealing like Justin Beiber fangirls over this "proof" start to pursue  REAL relationships based upon these false preconceptions based upon how they work?

Chris_Chan_Soundboard_by_Sanity_Question

Yeah, someone call security, because I'm officially creeped out.

Whether they say it's 'proof' or not.....everyone has their own opinions on who Sonic should be with

Perhaps, but these people clearly have no idea how relationships work.

Sonamy is so canon. Sonic's just too shy to admit it.

*lol* I've seen that from a meme elsewhere. It goes like this: Personal Space Invaders. There's a reason why it was never made into a game.

In Sonic Adventure 2, she tries to blackmail him into marrying her for info about Shadow. At this point we all know she doesn't really give a crap about how Sonic feels.

In Sonic 06 (which storywise does happen despite the glitches and whatever else wrong with it) she says "If I had to choose between the world and Sonic, I would choose Sonic!" and since we all know Sonic would rather die trying to save the world than save only himself, again Amy doesn't give a crap about what Sonic feels.

Only logical thing for Sonic to do? Get away from Amy. Fast.

It may in fact be true that Amy was meant as a love interest to Sonic, but the thing a lot of Sonamy supporters seem to be missing is that Sonic's relationships were never handled seriously in the games.  Sure, there could be a relationship there, but Sonic's never going to treat Amy like a typical girlfriend.  Because he's shy?  No, it's simply because it doesn't fit his character.  The whole reason Sonic treats Amy the way he does, at least to me, is because of the direct contrast of their wants and desires.  Sonic values his freedom and the adventure in life, while Amy seems to want a typical relationship.  The two of them met because Sonic was doing what he does best, and Amy merely became infatuated with him.  If this was meant to be a relationship, it was poorly handled, or never truly meant to be reciprocated upon.  Sonic needs someone who understands what he values, who has a spirit as untamed as his own.  I honestly don't think Amy's ever been capable of that.  At the very least she could try to understand him more, rather than attempting to tie him down again and again.  I'm willing to bet if Amy weren't so deadest on a typical boyfriend/girlfriend relationship, and were a little more open to Sonic's way of thinking, he could be more receptive.

Sonic and Sally's relationship, by way of contrast, is complimentary.  Sonic in Satam is still free-spirited and unwilling to sit still.  But Sally has the will to keep him focused on the task at hand.  Sonic and Sally's relationship was written that way for a reason, and is thusly more believable.  I'm not saying one or the other is better, but after all this IS a Satam themed site. ;)

I had more to say on Sonally, but I've had a few beers and my short term is a bit fuzzy...

My head must be broken when it comes to relationships and shipping... I tend to hate 90% of lead females in media... especially media with a male target audience... and very rarely do I get really into a popular paring.

Of the two I LEAN more Sonamy than Sonsal, but that's like saying I'd rather my upset stomach be diarrhea instead of puking... not to say either girl is puke worthy... it's just I really rather have neither.

I agree that most SonAmy fans have no idea what a relationship should look like... But I do know a friend happily married to her stalker so there's that.  I just think that SonSal is more the jock dating the cheerleader because everyone wants to see it, not because they actually have strong feelings.

At this point I feel Sonic's character is to "immature" to be in a relationship so I prefer to see him single.

Really, I think it depends on which canon we're talking about. In the games canon, I can't see Sonic and Amy working. Officially? I doubt Sonic would ever be paired with anyone. Ideally? I'd like to see Sonic with Blaze in the games canon. I'll admit they're my favorite Sonic pairing.

But in the Sonic Boom cartoons? I could see it working. Amy isn't so clingy, and she actually has more depth as a character than just being a Sonic fangirl. The feelings for Sonic are more subtle and hinted at, and in this version Sonic seems to feel the same.

At the end of the day, I see different Sonic pairings in different continuities. I have my obvious favorites, but I can see where they'd work in other scenarios.
