Decided this idea should be a full post.

Okay so far all I can find of the lore Mobius Satam wise is handful of fan-made maps. And other mediums conflict about the nature of Sonic's world in incredibly disparate ways. And much of the depth of Satam's potential even in Archie has not been deeply mined. So get out your best pickaxe, we're diggin' for diamonds.

We are going to build a better Mobius...

Think with a whole Expanded Universe in mind. This a SFFC (Sonic Fancition Coallition http://sonicsatam.co...pic=4873&page=6 ) Project and is meant for brainstorming for our respective stories, building off of intresting ideas on the nature and lore of Sonic's world. However any clever soul can help us. Who knows? You might inspire someone. :awesome:

We will start with Mobians and races, and their unique cultures. What are your ideas?

I envision the Acorn Kingdom is a progressive movement to globalize all Mobians despite ethnic and cultural differences. The people have been seperate for years but Mobotropolis acts like a form of cosmopololis with a gambit of represenatives and mixes of the different kinds of Mobians.

i can see Mobotropolis as more or less like America, like all the cultures and all that coming together

In EoT this is a great cuase for concern for many other nations. If the Mobians can unite despite their differences they could be that world's Fire Nation, a superpower full of beings that, despite their dissparate needs and the logiscitcal difficulty of managing such different peoples, are incredibly and diversely powerful as individuals. For years the Overlanders had the edge as a community, they could easily group together and their simpler needs left them to more resource sharing and manpower dedicated to technological advancement. The Great War broiled from cold to hot in part for fear of the first Mobian Superpower.

 Pretty deep huh?

In War for Mobius, The Kingdom of Acorn is only one Country in the Mobian Nations.  Mobotropolis was just the capital of that Nation.

Did Robotnik manage to get the jump on anyone else, or is he pulling his resources in Acorn to do so?

Robotnik controls all of the Kingdom of Acorn and 90 percent of the Mobian Nations.  The Overlanders however are fighting a losing war against Robotnik.

And yes, Robotnik is feeding his resources off of The Kingdom of Acorn.

My Overlanders don't die easy either. They are transhumanists like Robotnik, except they despise the concept of cybernetics and robotics as tool of personal progress. While Robotnik belives that Roboticization is the future, they focus on eugenics (think Khan Nunian Sung) in an attempt to create a masterace. Despite this and being rather isolationalist (many Mobians don't even know what they look like, much like Quarians in Mass Effect),  they were the first people to split the atom...much to the shagrin of the world.

Warclaws are a reactivist group of mostly carnivorus species of Mobians that despise the Arkon Unification Pact when the Wolf Pack and the Latran (Antoine's people) fully allied to fight off  two warring break-off sects from the Overland who were pillaging and conquering their ancestral homes. They have a beef with the very idea of Mobitropolis, are very pro-arcane to many being luddites  (hence why Queen Nicole was so surprised that they had EMP darts), and are very Mobian-Supremicist. There are even rumors and warstory's that Warclaws have attacked Overlanders...for food.

In mine, Kingdom of Acorn/Mobotropolis along with multiple other nations are under Robotnik/Eggman's control save for a few smaller nations, refugee areas and smaller US-Western style settlements. The Overlanders (save for about 12.5% of them) have made peace with Mobians (mainly the Acorns) with some continuing their "Xenophobic War" as Ben calls it and the Humans are trying to appease Eggman so they wont attack them... but it isnt working

I had a weird idea for Arcadia that the differences between the kingdoms on Mobius were what influenced the different continuities on Earth when Mobius was seen with Sega's/DIC's/Archie's/Fleetway's latent psi talents.  Mobotropolis provided the look for both SatAM and Archie, Station Square for the games and X, Mobara (fankingdom I created) for Underground, Mercia for Fleetway, and Angel Island/Downunda for Archie as well.

For building a better Mobius, we could probably do the same thing but in reverse.  We can use the various depictions within the various continuities to help establish how different kingdoms/countries on Mobius would be like.  For example, Mercia would have a long history of nobility but at the same time would see Sonic as crude and possibly a bit of jerk.  (In Fleetway, he was depicted as a real assgasket and not very heroic IMHO.)

Just an idea...but it could streamline a few things from a worldbuilding perspective as well as help keep things a bit true to the source material.

My take at Mobius is pretty much a cross between SatAM and "Underground".

As seen in the later show, Mobius is divided into different countries and provinces, including various kingdoms and governments. The capital city of Mobotropolis is ruled by the Acorn family, and serves as the head government which oversees the administration of other realms, similar to the US presidency. Other kingdoms are ruled by their respective representatives, which include monarchs (i.e. Queen Aleena of Mobodoon), aristocrats (i.e. the Duke of Velcomia), and ambassadors/diplomats (i.e. Sir Bartleby MontClair of Dresdin).

When Robotnik took over the capital, he allowed the subordinate rulers to continue ruling as long as they pledged allegiance to his empire and payed him tribute. And in exchange for their contributions, their taxes are used to fund Robotnik's industries to produce more robots, thus allowing better security. If not, they'll be denounced as traitors and roboticized. So basically, they're being blackmailed.

In my story, those who willing sided with Robotnik count as the 90% he controls.  And they are a bit better off than those who resist.

In EoT each "Kind" (which is like human ethnicity) of Mobian has different and unique needs, economies, history, culture, and goverments,  that is the reason Overlanders have the edge as a people group because of they are mainly isolationalists/centralists and are run mainly by a Big Brother style Federal Goverment with strong socialist leanings. There have been more libertarian break off groups however that have skirted and conflicted with Mobians all through out  contemporary history even taking over the Dhawman Provance just to get another war/siege with the Underlanders.

Underlanders are a race unique to EoT in that they are like Mutants from X men/ Non-muggles of Harry Potter. Though any living being can learn magic with rigorus practice, the constant exposure to magical forces through generations gives some people innate magical ability. Over the years hard earned skill translates to a snow-balling latent potential in the next generation. Underlanders are an undergound society of spirtualists in a very agressivly secular culture (think of faithless bloodletters like Joesph Stalin/ Mussolini/ Pol Pot and you'll get the picture.) They are hunted down by secret police that constantly witchhunt for "superstious filth". They begin learning to use their natural talents about the same time a Jedi in Star Wars does (two to five) in a series of Half-way houses in a complex underground-railroad (think Harriet Tubman) through the slummy urban fringes of Overland society. They live in large colonies right under the noses of Overland culture. Before the Great War an anti-nationalist group called The Sons of Lazaar built a confederacy that was powerful enough to take over the Dhawman which was a land higly attune to the arcane. They grew to become the first Underlander state in centuries since the fall of the Dark Lord Lazaar. However some Overlanders tried to steal the land (much like Stalin did with Eastern Europe by prologing the blood shed of WW2 to "liberate" the oil-rich Warsaw) from under Mobian noses. It was essentially a war of high-fantasy wizards versus mechanized and modern blitzkriegers versus guerrilla warfare minorties with wildcard intrests. Luckily King Maximillian turned the tide by helping the Latran (Antoine's people) reconquer their homeland. Max signed a peace treaty and diplomacy with the once silent Overland after the liquidation of the Sons of Lazaar (to the shagrin of the various peoples that would eventually fund and forge the militaristic Warclaw  movement). Most of the Latran, Renard (Tails's people), and Khani (canines) and nieghboring Wolfpack however were way too thankful to complain and fully self-assimulated themselves into the Kingdom Arkon (the formal name for the Kingdom of "Acorn").   The alliance with the Wolfpack was ambiguous about their policies on beligerancy and stayed rather aloof during the early years of the Great War, much to Max's disapointment, only giving rare and secretive troop-support and some logistical assitance. Underlanders in the meantime lost a lot of their more of their darker number, yet they also became more of a prime target of the Overlander Secret Police.

Different backgrounds.

Overlanders are shorter, xenophobic towards Mobians, basically the comics description of them.

Humans are like us. 95% of the time accepting of Mobians
