I still remember the rise and fall of expectations from each time the prequel films came out.

The Phantom Menace

Oh my god, its actually happening! After so long, we're actually going to see Star Wars again! Holy shit, this looks so epic. Did you see that double lightsaber with that devil guy? This is going to be......oh.

Attack of the Clones

Well, this one certainly looks a lot better than the last one. I see a whole bunch of stormtroopers, Anakin is grown up now, and I think Yoda is actually going to fight in this. Christopher Lee is in this as well? Kick ass. This is going to be....oh.

Revenge of the Sith

Well, I keep hearing this is the darkest of the trilogy. We're gonna see General Grievous from the cartoons in this kick some major ass, we'll finally get to see the real Darth Vader again, and Palpatine is going to finally get to do something. This is going to be....oh.

Goes to show how much hype can ruin a film for everyone.

I mean, look at how much flack the latest episode is getting from diehard fanboys. The movie had been in the works for quite a while and everyone had their own expectations regarding it; their ideas festering up till it became their own ideal movies. And when the film finally came out, they were probably underwhelmed and very disappointed. Now they're practically tearing the film apart just to find examples that justify their biased opinions.

When it comes to the prequels, it's practically the same thing. Though out of all of them, "Revenge of the Sith" is probably the one that holds up the best. It has its problems (mostly the clunky dialogue), but its stronger focus on character drama and visuals seem to make up for it.

I could honestly sit and enjoy all of the Star Wars films. Yes, some are better than others, and I still want to kill Jar jar, but there's no film that's really "bad". It's just that the original is a very hard film to live up to.

I was in blackout mode. I wanted to go into the movie completely fresh knowing absolutely nothing. I think it was a huge benefit to my experience.

I just realized, that Starkiller base should have had more than enough firepower to blow up an entire solar system if it ate the energy of a star! Three plants is nothing.

You also gotta calculate travel power. Unlike the Death Star, Starkiller Base is stationary, it has to shoot galaxies light years away.

Well actually, it all takes place in one galaxy. And if that thing couldn't move, how would it have been able to find another star to recharge itself?

The whole quest to find Luke seemed kind of pointless in terms of this first movie, since they never actually needed his help for anything.

They didn't know Starkiller Base didn't have an exhaust port 2 meters wide.

And yet it was even easier third time around to break in and blow it up.
