@  Shadow : (24 March 2020 - 06:31 PM)

I'm still waiting to see if my attempts to sign up for EI have gone through or not. Phone lines are impossible to get through.

@  furrykef : (23 March 2020 - 05:58 PM)

There's talk that they may have found a cure for the virus. Here's hoping.

@  A Fox in a D... : (22 March 2020 - 07:27 PM)

Yeah, our D&D sessions and just going out for drinks at local breweries is basically gone right now. We're thinking of doing remote sessions but it's still not the same.

@  Wulfsbane : (22 March 2020 - 03:28 PM)

It just sucks cause my friends and I can't do our usual weekend stuff cause most of the restaurants we go to are closed or takeout only

@  furrykef : (22 March 2020 - 11:20 AM)

I know exactly how you feel.

@  A Fox in a D... : (22 March 2020 - 10:41 AM)

Yeah, there's a part of me that, as an introvert, should be totally OK with the concept of staying home. But there's also a huge part of me that is incredibly unnerved by the concept of having the choice taken away. Before, it felt like something I wanted to do, but now it just feels lonely and sad.

@  A Fox in a D... : (22 March 2020 - 10:38 AM)

Ah, no worries. Thanks for clarifying. <3

@  Wulfsbane : (22 March 2020 - 05:31 AM)

I absolutely recognize that this is going to have a change in how we do things, for better or for worse. There's going to be some positive changes out of this and some negative changes as well. I get this is something we haven't seen in 100 years.

If I came off as insensitive, I should apologize and explained what I meant a bit more.

@  Wulfsbane : (22 March 2020 - 05:23 AM)

You misunderstand. My daily life consists of me going to work and going home. When I order food out I usually get take out anyways. See I work 2nd shift so my options of what I can/can't do is limited by time anyways and hasn't effected me as much, the only real thing being I can't sit down at the diner when I get out at 11pm-12am on a Friday night. So when I say I'm not changing much of my daily life it's because my routine is at a point where my interactions with people, in person, are limited to begin with

@  A Fox in a D... : (20 March 2020 - 11:01 AM)

Regardless of how you feel Covid affects you personally, there's an absolute change this puts on everyone globally, especially small businesses and at-risk people. It will influence how we look at the media landscape, how we deliver entertainment and services, and workplace practices going forward, some long term, some short, some good and some bad. These sort of pandemics don't come around with zero wake, and we've already seen that and are seeing it right now. If you don't think anything is different, then you aren't looking hard enough.

@  A Fox in a D... : (20 March 2020 - 10:09 AM)

No, Covid is it's already costing businesses and lives, and it's made life difficult for just about everyone I know, particularly in my industry where we've having to scramble to ship games from home. What you're doing is unwise and irresponsible, and you're not the only person in existence, so you can keep your "not really".

@  Wulfsbane : (19 March 2020 - 08:57 PM)

Not really. I'm still going about it as if nothing's different

@  GetCrazyWith... : (18 March 2020 - 06:48 PM)

Covid is going to screw up all our lives

@  RedAuthar : (17 March 2020 - 09:43 PM)

I know your pain Ben, I know your pain...

@  Shadow : (16 March 2020 - 08:13 PM)

Lucky you.

@  Wulfsbane : (16 March 2020 - 05:16 AM)

I still gotta work

@  A Fox in a D... : (16 March 2020 - 12:03 AM)

It's only boring if you make it so. I'm stuffing my quarantine with as much art as I can muster.

@  furrykef : (13 March 2020 - 07:16 AM)

Stupid COVID-19 got chess club canceled. I guess I should prepare myself for a particularly boring next few months.

I watched HunterXHunter for a while. It was good but I slowly lost interest in it in one Arc. Some battle arena arc or something...just kept dragging on.

I was a fan of Fairy Tail as well till they had one Arc that just dragged on and on and on...and it started pulling the one fight will last 3 or 4 episodes...got annoying.

One of the reasons why I love the 12 and 24 episode shows. They have a clear start and finish. There are some exceptions in that...FMA went 50 or so and totally worth it. So did Soul Eater and I loved that show as well.

That sounds kind of like the Greed Island arc. But even worse than that is the Chimera ant arc I'm currently on(and technically almost finished with) and its 60+ episodes -_x Still enjoying it overall but there are some minor annoyances here and there besides it dragging out. Few episodes back the narrator started narrating and explaining every single scene throughout the episodes, even obvious stuff. Like way to dumb it down for people haha.

Yeah I was loving some Fairy Tail for a bit. Watched all 40 something episodes Netflix had to offer, and then ventured off and watched close to 100 more on various anime sites. I kinda lost interest a bit after that time skip but kept telling myself I'd go and pick back up on it.

On the topic of anime dragging on too long, man One Piece has definitely taken the cake on that for me. It's been almost a decade now since I've last followed it because it just seems to have no end in sight. I like 12-24 but also don't mind ones that are a little bit longer, like 50-70 range if the quality doesn't dip. I think Monster was around 75 episodes and kept me hooked the entire time. Great psych/crime thriller.

On the other hand, I'm hearing Persona 5 the Animation is only gonna be 24 episodes long and that just doesn't seem like quite enough. I feel like 36 would have been ideal, and the fast pacing has definitely shown. That's a game I put 120+ hours in on my first play through. And that was pretty much all story, no side quests haha.

Yeah I stopped watching Fairy Tail in the arc just before the time skip I think.  The one where they went to their "training island".   I think I stopped half way through that.

You should give Steins Gate a go.  Watch season 1 first obviously...   And if you look into Steins Gate its a series whiten other series.  All within the same universe or some junk.   Chaos;Head was the first and..I watched it but it was nothing special.  Robotics;Notes was actually quite good. But Steins;Gate is by far the best and using current era theme.  Like talks about Cern, that time traveler who was on the internet in the early 2000s..few other things.   And the characters are all like-able.

Yeah, Steins Gate is more a matter of when than if for me right now xD I'm really intrigued by the time traveling element of it, and it being a series within other series. Almost reminds me of Baccano! And DRR! now that I'm mentioning it, not story wise but just the fact those two series were set in different times, nothing to do with each other, different casts of characters(aside from a cameo of two)but all set in the same world. Just thought that was really neat. Back to Steins though, the main reason I haven't started it yet -and this is sort of silly haha- is because I know it was originally a visual novel game, and I'm torn on if I want to watch it as an anime first or play the game first(or at all)

Well we are starting to learn a bit more about the world in Darling in the FranXX.  Also where we get 02's DNA from.

I get mixed feelings with the Netflix exclusive shows, but damn was Violet Evergarden good. Real heart-wrencher if you allow it to pull you in.

Yeah Franxx has been really good lately with the “wedding” episode and the latest one that gives us some more background on Papa and whatnot. Really intrigued to learn more about the Klaxosaur queen.

Haven’t heard of Violet Evergarden since I’ve neglected Netflix lately(they’ve been making their money off me for sure haha), but sounds like that’s something I need to check out since I shamelessly love heart wrenching anime.

It'll play the heart-strings like a harp. Really got to me. I wound up watching it through twice. I want a Violet figure if they decide to make them. best I've seen is a keychain.

Been watching Children of Whales on Netflix...Its actually quite good.  I picked it up some time back, watched part of ep one and got bored...Went back to it yesterday and I'm kinda upset at myself for just watching 10 minutes or so and deciding the fate of the show...And Im glad I went back to it.

Sorry for the bump. I do want to throw it out there that I started and finished Violet Evergarden since I last checked in here. Everyone who said it was a beautiful anime was absolutely on point haha.

Anyone been keeping up with any other new/ongoing titles? One Punch Man season 2 has been solid and I’m not bothered one bit by the animation studio change. Attack on Titan had its first episode back and is off to a thrilling start reminiscent of season 2. I also started Black Clover not too long ago and it’s been pretty good so far, about 20 episodes in. As for anime that just started this past season, I’ve really loved Promised Neverland, Rising of the Shield Hero and That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime.

As far as Violet Evergarden....Top show,

I've been interested in reading the light novels for The Rising of the Shield Hero. I must say I watched the first few episodes of the show and I enjoyed it. I am now a fan of Boku no Hero Academia as well. I also want to see Weathering with you.

The Beastars manga got an anime adaptation via Netflix and it is really well done.

I didn't know about it until like two weeks ago. I might purchase the volumes so I can read it.
